Jester’s POV
I stormed into the hospital parking lot, pacing back and forth as my anger boiled over. She had been right there, just within my reach, and yet she managed to get away!
I wanted to hold her, to tell her how much I missed her. I had taken her for granted, thinking she’d always be there, but now I knew that she was everything. Losing her had left a hole in my chest, and it burned every time ! thought about her.
But I wouldn’t let her go. Not after how far I’d come.
My thoughts twisted to the man who had picked her up. Who the fuck was he? He didn’t look like just some stranger giving her a ride. The way he sped off, the way he looked at her, was as if he cared about her. My wolf growled at the thought, his jealousy bleeding into my veins
Mauve was mine! She belonged to me. It didn’t matter that the mate mark was gone. We hadn’t formally severed our bond. There was still a chance for us.
Fueled by frustration, I approached the hospital doors, only to have two guards block my way.
“You’re not allowed inside,” one of them said firmly, crossing his arms
“What?” I snapped, my anger flaring. “Why not?”
“You caused a disturbance earlier,” the other guard said. “You were yelling and chasing someone. This hospital is a place of healing, not chaos. You’re banned from entering.”
I growled, my hands curling into fists. “You don’t understand, buddy. My wife works here. I have to see her!!!” “She’s not here now,” the first guard replied coldly. “And even if she was, you’re not getting past us.”
Their tone left no room for argument. My wolf roared in my head, demanding I tear through them, but I knew better. There were too many of them, and they were armed. I had no choice but to back away.
I walked around to the side of the hospital, pacing restlessly as I tried to figure out what to do next. Mauve would have to come back eventually because this was her damn workplace. All I had to do was wait
Hours passed, and I was still there, watching. A sleek black car pulled up to the entrance, and an older man stepped out. He wore a sharp business suit, and his presence demanded attention.
The guards straightened immediately, bowing their heads. “Welcome back, Director Smith,” one of them said. Director Smith. The name piqued my interest.
“Such a powerful man,” one guard muttered to the other. “The wealth he has is incredible.”
“And yet no heirs,” the other replied. “No one to take over his fortune when he’s gone.”
I frowned, their conversation sparking an idea. If I wanted to get close to Mauve again, I needed power–real power, Wealth. Influence. Something that would make her see me as someone worth being with again.
Director Smith might just be the key.
Before I could think further, a group of rogues in human form stormed the entrance, armed with silver bull The guards didn’t stand a chance. Shots rang out, and their bodies fell to the ground, lifeless.
The rogues moved quickly, surrounding Director Smith.
“What do you want?” the old man demanded. “If it’s money, I can give you all you need. Just let me go!” One of the rogues, a tall man with a cruel smirk, stepped forward. “We need something far more valuable than money, old man,” he sneered. “We need your life.”
I couldn’t stand by any longer. My wolf surged forward, and I shifted without hesitation. My muscles stretched and strengthened, my senses sharpening as I charged towards the rogues.
The roques didn’t see me coming. I tore through them with claws and teeth, my movements faster and stronger

than they had ever been. The recovery time in the hospital had done more for me than I realized. And Mauve had. cared for me. She had healed me
The roques screamed as I tore them apart one by one. Blood soaked the ground, and the metallic scent filled the air. By the time the warriors arrived, it was over. The roques were dead, their bodies scattered around me
“Stand down!” one of the warriors shouted, aiming his weapon at me.
“Wait!” Director Smith’s voice rang out, stopping them “This man saved my life. Let him be.”
The warriors hesitated before lowering their weapons, and I shifted back into human form, panting and covered. in blood.
Later, I sat at a grand dining table in Director Smith’s home, plates of food spread out in front of me. I devoured it all, barely pausing to breathe,
“You eat like you haven’t had a proper meal in weeks,” the old man said with a chuckle.
“I haven’t,” I admitted, shoveling another bite into my mouth.
He raised an eyebrow, surprised. “That’s unfortunate. Tell me, young man, what do you want in exchange for saving my life?”
I paused, setting my fork down as I met his gaze. “I want my mate and my pack back. And I want you to help me.” “Is that all?” He raised an eyebrow, considering my request carefully before nodding in agreement.
