The scarred luna’s rise from ashes Chapter 44

C44

Later that night, I woke up to the sound of Mauve gasping. I could feel it toothe sharp, blinding pain that through both of us. Our bond had been strengthened with our mark, we shared everything now, including this moment of pure agony

I sat up immediately. Mauve, are you giving birth now?”

I think it’s time, she breathed through gritted teeth. The pups are coming.”

I didn’t think twice. Ignoring the pain, I hurriedly dressed, helping Mauve to the car as quickly as I could. The journey to Dr. Helen’s clinic felt like the longest I’d ever taken, my heart racing with each passing minute

The agony of Mauve’s labor pulled at me, but I couldn’t bring myself to go in. She needed space, and I needed

to remain calm. It was our moment, our family’s moment. And I wasn’t going to let anything ruin it. Then, I heard the sweet sound of two tiny cries. My heart soared as I rushed into the delivery room, finally allowed to see my girls

Mauve lay there, her face flushed, exhausted but glowing with pride as she held both of them in her arms. Two beautiful girls. I could hardly believe it

She’s perfect,Mauve whispered, gazing down at the one in her arms

I leaned over and kissed her forehead, my eyes never leaving the tiny girls in her arms. They’re perfect, Mauve. Our daughters.”

I gently touched their tiny hands I’ll name them. The first one, she’ll be Dawn. And the second will be Grace.”

Mauve smiled softly, her eyes filled with warmth. Dawn and GraceI love it.”

Just as the happiness swelled between us, I felt a sharp tug in my mind. My Beta’s voice flooded in through the

mind link

Alpha, the Eldersthey know. They’ve already scattered the news that Luna Mauve gave birth to twin girls. They’re on their way to the clinic to take one of them. We have to act fast.”

The peaceful moment I’d been holding onto shattered in an instant

Mauve, still holding our daughters, looked up at me. They can’t have them, Joshua.”

I won’t let them,I promised. I couldn’t lose them. Not after everything

I looked down at the tiny girls in her arms. Dawn and Grace. Our daughters. Their little hands were so small, but already, they seemed to grasp onto life with everything they had. Dawn’s cry had been loud and strong, like she was already ready to face the world. Grace’s was quieter but just as fierce

Mauve had been through so much to get here, and now, as I looked at her holding our girls, I knew there was nothing I wouldn’t do to protect them. The pain of labor had been brutal for her, and I had felt it too, through the bond we shared. But Mauve had fought through it, and now we had our daughters in our arms. I wasn’t going to let anyone take that away from us

*JoshuaMauve’s voice trembled. Please, don’t let them take our daughters”

I won’t.I kissed her forehead softly before I stepped away. Stay with them. Don’t let anyone near them.”

Her eyes were full of concern, but she nodded, trusting me completely. Be careful.”

I gave

one last look at the girls in her arms before I turned and rushed out of the room

Outside, I could already feel the presence of the Elders closing in

Alpha, they’re almost here,my Beta’s voice cut through the link. We don’t have much time.”

The Elders were here, but they didn’t come alone. Huge rogues surrounded them, their massive forms casting

dark shadows as they advanced quickly, their eyes burning with hunger

They moved fast, and before I could react, the first rogue lunged. His claws swiped through the air, barely missing me. I dodged just in time, but I could feel the rush of wind from his attack. More rogues followed, chal toward me with a viciousness I’d never seen before

I didn’t hesitate. I shifted into my massive black wolf and growled, calling my pack to back me up

BACK ME UP!”

My warriors surged forward. We met the rogues headon, but there were so many of them. Too many. They came from every direction, surrounding us, pushing us back

One rogue grabbed me from the side, his claws digging into my shoulder. I grunted, twisting my body to throw him off. My fist slammed into his jaw, sending him stumbling back, but before I could catch my breath, another jumped at me. His jaws snapped inches from my face, and I barely dodged in time. The roques were relentless

It was chaos. My warriors were fighting, but the rogues just kept coming I fought as hard as I could, swinging and kicking, trying to keep them off me, but there were too many. Every time I took one down, another seemed to appear. The Elders stood back, watching, cold and unmoved. They didn’t need to fight. Tthey had their rogues doing that for them

My warriors were holding their ground, but it was clear we were being overwhelmed. The rogues were just too many I felt the exhaustion creeping in, but I couldn’t stop. Not now. Not with Mauve and the girls inside

I heard my Beta’s voice in the link. Joshua! Watch out, behind you!”
