Chapter 5
Shyla didn’t sleep deeply and was quickly awakened by the noise
The familiar cologne emanating from the man’s collar quickly confirmed his identity for her.
Calvin?
How could he suddenly rush in and kiss her?
She shuddered all over, before she could react, she heard Calvin hoarsely, mixed with a burning breath, “Rosa…”
At that moment, she froze
And the strong smell of alcohol that hit her face made her realize the current situation
Calvin, while drunk, mistook himself for Rosa.
Lost in thought
for just a moment, Calvin slowly lowered his hands.
She became visibly Dustered, pressing down on the hand that was causing trouble around her waist while trying to push him away, her
tone filled with anxiety.
“Calvin, you mistook me for someone else, I am Shyla!”
Calvin may have been too drunk to understand what she was saying, or perhaps her struggle aroused his desire for control.
His kisses became more and more fierce, capturing the soft lips and gently nibbling on them
Shyla was almost out of breath.
She became so anxious that tears streamed down her face, inadvertently wetting the gauze and falling onto the wound, causing a wave
of intense pain.
“Calvin, you hurt me, my wound hurts so much….
Whether it was the effect of alcohol or the power of her screams, Calvin’s body stiffened slightly and he released his grip on her hands.
She quickly rolled to the side and crawled out, without even bothering to put on her shoes. She ran to the living room, wrapped in a blanket, and barely managed to fall asleep until dawn.
The next afternoon, as soon as she opened her eyes, she saw Calvin in front of her with an indiscernible expression on his face.
The events of last night flooded her mind, scaring her so much that she immediately shrank into the corner of the sofa.
Watching her movements, Calvin’s eyes flashed with a hint of coldness.
“Last night, did you bring me to your room?”
Shyla was taken aback by his question and was about to explain when she noticed him furrowing his brows again.
“This kind of mindset, you are not allowed to have it anymore in the future. Otherwise, you will have to move out and live elsewhere”
Seeing him looking so confident, Shyla swallowed the words “It was you who got drunk” that were about to come out of her mouth.
Based on the past experience of stolen kisses, no matter how she explains it now, he probably wouldn’t believe her.
So she gave up explaining and obediently closed her mouth.
Two shadows were cast on the floor, and Shyla saw the shadow across from her seemingly raise its hand, unable to resist, she lifted her

Calvin‘
Calvin’s hand hesitated just above her head, as if he wanted to touch her.
Shyla froze completely, her eyes filled with disbelief.
When she was a child, every time she missed her family and cried so hard that she couldn’t catch her breath, countless times when she felt sad and lonely, Calvin would pat her head and gently comfort her.
This almost became their unspoken code between him and her.
From the age of seventeen onwards, they had almost no physical contact
She was so nervous that her breath was about to stop.
The next second, Calvin litted his hand and took out a bottle of red wine from the cabinet behind her.
It turned out that she was just being overly sensitive.
Shyla chuckled self–deprecatingly.

Because of the urgency to sell, the previously listed items and the old house were all sold quickly at
Kali had gathered over ninety million, still a few hundred thousand short of the amount she had imagined she had to repay.
She was going abroad soon, and there was not much time left. It was difficult to raise the remaining amount of money. She was a painter, although she was a newcomer, she had won many awards over the years and was somewhat famous in the industry. Therefore, she planned to organize an art exhibition to sell her paintings.
She couldn’t accomplish it in a short time on her own, so she went to ask Calvin for help.
Just as Rosa, who happened to be nearby, heard it, a hint of surprise flashed across her face, and she walked forward with
V, I was also preparing for an art exhibition. How about doing it together?”
“Coincidentally,
Shyla looked at Calvin and, seeing no objection from him, she agreed.
Five days later, the two individuals‘ art exhibitions were held simultaneously at the art gallery.
smile.
Rosa had been studying painting for over ten years, and for the first time, she held a large–scale exhibition, so Calvin was particularly
concerned.
He directly gave her a few hundred square meters of the main hall, and spared no effort to decorate it anew. He also used various means
to promote it.
Soon the day of the event, the social elites and literary glants who came to participate directly refreshed the history of visitor flow at
the art gallery.
The other art gallery, which was arranged in the side hall, was not so lucky.
In a room of about ten square meters, nearly a hundred paintings were crammed, so cramped that people couldn’t even move. There was no one coming in to visit, let alone hold an auction
She stood at the doorway, gazing at the lively scene in the distance, her eyes filled with disappointment and sadness.
Several friends who came to help her were just about to comfort her when suddenly a scream came from the room.
“Shyla, something happened!”
