Chapter 9
The broadcast at Hedgeview Airport was announcing the arrival of flights.
From a far distance, Shyla could see Ariella’s family waving vigorously.
She ran up and saw three bright smiling faces, and all her gloom disappeared.
“Ariella, Konnor! Lara!”
Ten–year–old Lara, although meeting her cousin for the first time, had already heard her mother talk about how great Shyla was, so she immediately rushed into her arms when they met.
“Shylla, were you tired from the plane ride? Lara will give you a leg massage!”
Konnor stepped forward and took her luggage. The little girl extended her chubby hand and pressed it against her leg.
Looking at her cousin’s innocent and adorable face, Shyla’s heart melted, and she picked her up in her arms.
“I wasn’t tired, but Lara had been waiting here for two hours. Was she tired of waiting?
“Why would Shyla be tired? I like Shyla the most
With that, Lara planted a kiss on her face.
Shyla laughed, her eyes forming a crescent moon.
Ariella took her daughter in her arms and lifted her up, her voice filled with joy.
“Flying for twelve hours must have been exhausting, Shyla. Do you want to go home and take a rest tirst, or do you want to grab something to eat?”
Alter sleeping for seven or eight hours on the plane, Shyla felt refreshed. She raised her hand and playfully scratched Lara’s nose, smiling contentedly.
“Let’s go eat first, Lara can introduce me to some delicious food!”
-I knew a lot! Mom, can you please give Shyla a portion of everything I like?
Amidst laughter and jokes, the family of three left the airport with Shyla
As Shyla passed by the trash bin, she casually threw her phone into it.
Ariella saw her actions and a hint of surprise flashed across her face.
“How did you throw away your phone? Is it broken? Then take it to get it fixed, otherwise it will be difficult to contact friends at home
and also difficult to contact Calvin

The smile at the corner of Shyla’s mouth faded slightly, and she shook her head gently.
“I won’t go back to my home country anymore, and I’m afraid I won’t s
I see my friends and classmates again. I sold the ancestral house and gave all the money to Calvin as a way to repay him for raising me all these years. Calvin is getting married and starting a family soon, and I am just an adopted daughter without any blood relation. It wouldn’t be right to trouble him anymore in the future, so I
won’t keep in touch.”
Ariella was taken aback by the words and upon careful consideration, she realized that there was nothing wrong with what she said. She gently patted her shoulder.
“Alright then, anyway, when the Gutierrez family had trouble back then, it was your father who helped out. Calvin raised you for over ten years, so let’s consider it even. Coming back to me means coming home, and our elder brother and sister in–law in heaven would be happy to see it too.”
When it comes to the deceased relatives, both the aunt and her nephew feel a bit sad.
Although Lara, the mischievous ghost, was not sure what had happened, she quickly changed the subject.
“shyla, I prepared a gift for you! Everything in your room was chosen by me, and I also placed many cute dolls for you. Do you like

“Tell me which dolls Lara put away.”
Watching the
e two sisters being so close, the couple exchanged a glance and saw contentment in each other’s eyes. Tears welled up in
Ariella’s eyes.
When the incident happened to her brother–in–law and sister–in–law, she couldn’t help her niece, and she always carried a sense of guilt in her heart.
Although the Gutierrez family did not mistreat Shyla, she also understood that living under someone else’s roof meant a lack of freedom, so she was constantly thinking of ways to bring her niece back.
Now the family has reunited, and she finally managed to let go of her grudges.
In the future, she would give her best to provide Shyla with a warm home.
After all, they were each other’s only relatives in this world, sharing the same bloodline.
