“When Irene realizes her mistake, bring her to me immediately.”
“And keep an eye on her; no one is allowed to harm a single hair on her head!”
When I woke, a dull ache radiated through my body, leaving me feeling weak and fragile.
The bruise on my lower back had been treated with a hot compress, the tender skin still swollen and sore to the
touch.
As my memory flooded back, an unfamiliar name surged to the surface:
Norman
The name passed my lips, and an electric shock seemed to pulse through my veins.
Norman, the newly appointed head of the Davis Corporation.
I’d heard the rumors, ruthless, calculating, and even willing to betray his own family to seize control of the empire. He was a name spoken in hushed tones, feared and respected.
But how could it be him?
I couldn’t allow myself to linger on that thought.
Without another moment to spare, I scrambled out of bed, hastily pulling on clothes, the weight of confusion pressing heavily on my chest.
Halfway through pulling on the shirt, I froze, realizing it was far too big for me.
A closer look revealed that it was a man’s shirt.
As the realization hit, I knew exactly who it belonged to, and without thinking. I began undoing the buttons to take
it off.
I
But just as my fingers grazed the fabric, I heard the bathroom door creak open.
“So, you like to sneak around in my clothes?”
Norman’s teasing voice slipped through the air, thick with amusement
“I quite like it.”
Rejected and Abandoned, Until light Man Frond Me
I was fent standing there in nothing out ine oversized white shirt that barely covered my thigns, the top buttons undone to expose the delicate curve of my collarbones.
The sight of my reflection hit me, and I realized just how provocative I must have looked. But I couldn’t change in
front of Norman.
I could only clutch the shirt to my chest, teeth chattering in embarrassment.
“I…I didn’t…”
At the sight of my crimson face, Norman’s smile deepened, becoming all too knowing.
“Didn’t?”
“Didn’t you sneak around in my clothes?”
I swallowed hard, my heart pounding.
“Well, that’s true. But you’re already mine, so everything that’s mine is yours, clothes included.”
The words hit me like a shock, and I nearly fainted right then and there
“W–what?”
In the blink of an eye, Norman was suddenly right in front of me, his features so perfectly chiseled that they seemed almost unreal. It was the kind of beauty that made you want to fall for him, no questions asked,
“What’s wrong? You think you can just run away after taking everything?”
“No!”
Norman’s dark lashes flickered ever so slightly, his eyes deep pools of unreadable emotion.
“It’s too late to deny it now”
With a smooth motion, he handed me a document.
The cover boldly declared “Marriage Agreement,” and when I reached the final page, I saw both our signatures,
mine and his.
Fragments of memory began to piece together, a hazy recollection of a night filled with passion. It had been so
easy then.
He had coaxed me into signing it, and back then, I had been desperate for more, eager to feel something. I signed
without a second thought.
I flipped through the pages, and the contents appeared surprisingly fair. In fact, it seemed like I had gotten the
better end of the deal.
My modest assets were now shared with Norman, and the 76% of Davis Corporation that belonged to him was
now mine, too.
I blinked, stunned. Just by signing my name, I had somehow acquired assets worth over three hundred billion. Naturally, I couldn’t bring myself to accept this with a clear conscience. But before I could protest, Norman had already reclaimed the document and, almost as if by magic, handed me a fresh set of clothes.
“Your clothes from yesterday were torn. I figured you couldn’t wear them,” he said with a casual tone.
“So, I bought you something new ”
“Try it on and see if it fits.”
After changing into the clothes, I was taken aback by how perfectly they fit. I couldn’t resist asking, “How did your
know my size?
Norman raised a playful eyebrow, his smile widening.
“You were the one who insisted I measure you,”
My face instantly flamed, turning as red as a lobster, and I cursed myself
But before I could say anything. Norman took my hand.
