Chapter 14
Time passed like water.
Since that day when I saw Jeffrey, he never appeared again.
Actually, these days, Bella didn’t often think about him.
Liam was kind to her, but he was not eager to establish a relationship.
He was the kind of person who silently and gently took care of Bella’s life.
Bella felt that such calm and peaceful days made her feel very secure.
That morning, Bella received a phone call from the editor–in–chief of Merribridge Magazine in the early hours.
“Ms. Arnold, I have a friend who works as a host, and today he is going to conduct an Interview with a celebrity, the same person I mentioned to you last time. Do you have time to participate in the photography work?”
“Okay, I can go. What is the specific time and location?”
“It would be best if we could go to the scene and communicate in person right now. I will send you the address and contact information Immediately.”
The editor was naturally pleased to see that she was willing to help out in saving the situation.
Bella knew time was running out, so she didn’t dare to delay. She hailed a taxi by the roadside and rushed to the location of the studio
at the fastest speed.
The venue and other staff were already prepared at this time, and the work could start as soon as the photographer arrived. She looked around, taking in the surroundings, and before finding the one James mentioned, she noticed another person
There were many people on the scene, and the noise was loud, but Jeffrey stood out the most when he came here.
I didn’t expect that the celebrity being interviewed would be him.
Hasn’t he returned to his country yet?
Was he still in Merribridge these days?
Bella thought calmly, with a strange absence of any extra thoughts.
Until Jeffrey unexpectedly looked over.
The two of them faced each other from a distance, neither of them taking a step forward or initiating a greeting
Noticing the change in his gaze, he followed with confusion and then walked over to Bella with excitement, saying, “You must be Ms. Arnold, right? I didn’t expect you to come so soon, that’s wonderful!”
“It was the editor who asked me to come.”
Bella shifted her gaze away from Jeffrey and looked at him as they exchanged pleasantries.
Although it was our first meeting, I had a very good impression of her. “I have heard Mr. Weber mention you before, and I only knew that you were young and highly skilled. I didn’t expect you to be so beautiful as well.”
He walked towards Jeffrey whille talking, leading Bella along. He introduced, “Mr. Castro, this Ms. Arnold is a well–known young photographer. With her help, our shooting today will surely go smoothly.”
Jeffrey responded with a nonchalant tone.
“Ms. Arnold, let me introduce you to Jeffrey.”
“What was the type and theme of this interview? Can we communicate the requirements first before starting the work? This way, it can also save both parties‘ time and energy.”
“Let Mr. Castro decide, I have no objections.” He instantly forgot what he was about to say and played the middleman between the two, “Mr. Castro is a big shot we have worked hard to invite, as long as he likes it, we can accept any style.”
Jeffrey rarely descended to earth, as they were genuinely afraid of running out of ready–made topics.
Bella never revealed throughout that she had known Jeffrey for a long time, so when he asked her to talk directly, she simply said, “Mr. Castro, please go ahead.”
The light and airy address was polite yet distant.
Jeffrey answered off–topic, “The environment here seems a bit chaotic. It’s almost noon, why don’t we three find a restaurant and sit down to eat and chat?”
He invited both Bella and someone else, but his gaze only fell on the former, staring intensely as if she would disappear again.
Bella was not interested in this at all: “I have plans for lunch, so I’m afraid I can’t stay for too long. How about this, you guys talk and once you have finalized the camera requirements, just send me a document with the details.”
As she spoke, her phone obediently rang, indicating that someone had called her in a timely manner.
Bella had nothing to avoid, so she directly pressed the answer button in front of them.
The person who called was Liam, his voice as gentle as always, asking on the other end of the phone, “Have you finished over there? I’m about to go back, so I can pick you up and we can go to Mr. Weber’s house together.”
No matter where she intended to go, he was always on her side and conveniently along the way.
Bella smiled slightly, her eyebrows raised, “It has already ended, and I was just about to leave.”
Liam then told her, “What a coincidence, 1 happened to have just driven to the outside of the studio as well.”
“How coincidental is this?”
Liam chuckled lightly and remained silent.
Both of them knew that he had clearly come here early on purpose
Bella didn’t expose this point, she hung up the phone and said goodbye, “You heard it too, I really have something to do at noon, I have to go.”
Jeffrey became the only person being ignored, as he stood in one place, watching her run out of the studio.
Bella hopped into Liam’s car with a brisk pace.
Looking at the departing car, I said to Jeffrey without envy, “Both of them are students of mine and good friends. I heard they are in a romantic relationship, deeply in love with each other, and their relationship is very stable. I estimate that it won’t be long before they take the next step and become a married couple.”
