“Even though you have already grown up, you still grew up by my side. Your parents are no longer here, so of course I have to look out for you and not let you be decrived by just anyone!
Jeffrey also brought along his true fire, and his gaze towards Liam could be described as icy.
How could Bella continue to endure, she decided to speak out: “I didn’t get together with Liam just to spite you, I genuinely think he’s a good person. I’ve been happy and comfortable spending time with him these days.”
“I said no, and that’s final!” Jeffrey angrily interrupted her, slamming his fork heavily onto the table, making a loud bang. “Bella, come
home with me.”
Now Bella also refused to tolerate James” face and suddenly stood up, saying, “This is not the Castro family, you can’t show off your power and expect others to follow you!”
“Bella, I was worried that you were being deceived!”
“You kept insisting that you had to take care of me. Well then, tell me, in what capacity are you currently trying to take care of me? Are you a familiar stranger or a so–called brother?
She emphasized the last two words.
Jeffrey found himself in a dilemma, if he acknowledged his brother’s identity, he would never be able to be with her again, and they would forever remain nominal siblings.
But if he didn’t acknowledge it, it would be equivalent to voluntarily giving up the right to interfere in her marriage.
The atmosphere became tense all of a sudden.
James vaguely sensed that they were arguing about Bella’s emotional issues. He glanced apologetically at Liam and tried to mediate, saying, “Alright, Mr. Castro, even if you have a suitable candidate, don’t be too hasty. Let’s wait for Bella to finish expressing her thoughts before discussing it slowly.”
“No!” Jeffrey said firmly, “This matter is not up for discussion.”
Bella didn’t want to make things difficult for James anymore, so she picked up her coat and apologized, “I’m sorry, I ruined the nice dinner. You guys enjoy, I’m going back home.
She said she would leave immediately, and specifically told Liam not to accompany her, staying behind to continue keeping James company.
Jeffrey was once again ignored by her, and his whole body was filled with anger. Ignoring James‘ persuasion, he quickly followed after her and said, “Bella! Stop right there!”
Bella ignored it and walked faster along the street.
Jeffrey saw her about to leave the neighborhood and rushed over to grab her arm, disregarding everything. He humbled himself and pleaded, “Bella, please listen to me.”
“Jeffrey, how many times do I have to say it for you to understand? I know what you’re going to say, but I don’t want to hear it!” The dispute between the two ended as Jeffrey forcibly pulled her into his parked car by the roadside. He pressed her onto the passenger seat and locked the car door from the inside.
Now Bella no longer wanted to ignore him, but could only stay with him in the cramped space.
“What do you want now, after you have already caused a disturbance?” Her eyes were slightly red with anger, her voice trembling. “This is a foreign country, your tricks won’t work here. If you don’t let me get out of the car, I will sue you for illegal detention!”
Jettrey’s voice did not sound as determined as his attitude, he took a deep breath and spoke with a hoarse voice that Bella had never heard before.

Jeffrey felt a headache, and he pinched the bridge of his nose, saying, “Can you please stop mentioning her?”
“No,” Bella deliberately reminded him and said, “Brother, I have already accepted Nicole as my sister–in–law and am willing to wish you both a hundred years of happiness and early birth of a noble child. What else are you dissatisfied with?”
“Enough.”
“Or did you have an argument with her, brother?”
Every time she spoke, she would call out “brother” to Jeffrey, which gave him a headache and made him feel tightness in his chest and shortness of breath.
He wanted her to stop calling him like th
that, but he couldn’t find a suitable reason, so he could only get angry and say, “You-”
As the refutation had just begun, Bella, sitting in the passenger seat, seized the opportunity and suddenly started vigorously pounding on the car window while shouting. “Help!”
Just as there happened to be patrolling police officers passing by outside, they noticed the commotion and immediately stopped in their tracks and walked over.
Jeffrey only realized that Bella was true to her word and was not threatening him earlier, but it was already too late.
The police officer solemnly knocked on the driver’s window, saying, “Sir, please step out of the car!”
Jeffrey reluctantly unlocked the car door and faced the police interrogation with Bella. He attempted to explain, “Officer, this is a misunderstanding, we know each other.”
He didn’t want to be siblings with her anymore, but this attitude successfully deepened the police’s suspicion.
The police carefully scrutinized him and then asked Bella for confirmation, “Is it true?”
Bella said coldly, “Just a brother with no blood relation.”
