Chapter 19
She looked up at the nearby hillside, which was ablaze with autumn colors, and suggested, “Liam, I’m planning to tidy up and go to the mountains to take pictures of the autumn scenery here. Do you want to come with me?
Liam naturally agreed, “Sure, wherever you want to go,
I will go with you
Bella laughed again and said, “I planned to stay near Faysnow for a while, is that okay?
“Then I’ll
back our luggage,” Liam said and did as he said, “You can continue sleeping for a while, I’ll wake you up when I’m done.”
When they decided on the new destination for their trip, Jeffrey was sitting alone in a dark room, going through the information in his
hands.
There was a wall lamp lit in the room, casting his face in a dim and obscure manner, resembling a vampire who had long resided in a
castle.
The assistant knocked on the door and reported, “Mr. Castro, as per your request, I have found a few more qualified candidates.”
Jeffrey then said, “Come in ”
The assistant, afraid of touching his bad luck, put down the documents and immediately stood aside.
Jeffrey seemed clearly uninterested, as if the information in front of him was not brought according to his requirements at all
While the assistant was feeling anxious, he suddenly lit a cigarette and his gaze froze when he saw one of the documents.
The cigarette burned on its own, and just as it was about to reach his fingertips, he shook it off with a stiff movement. However, the
next second it fell onto the sofa, almost burning a hole.
The assistant was startled by Jeffrey: “Mr. Castrol”
Jeffrey woke up as if from a dream and picked up the cigarette, pressing it into the ashtray to extinguish it.
He took out the information he had been looking at for a long time and handed it to his assistant, saying, “Let it be her, give her some
money, and send her to do what she wants to do.”
In the photo on the information, there was a young girl who looked almost identical to Bella.
The assistant was confused, “Don’t bring her along?”
Jeffrey furrowed his brow and asked, “What do you mean?”
After the initial despair, he no longer went madly searching for Bella’s traces everywhere, but instead changed his crazy method and started arranging people to search for girls who looked similar to Bella and were of similar age.
The assistant thought he couldn’t accept the reality of losing Bella and wanted to find a substitute to console himself, but now it seems
that he was mistaken.
Jettrey, unable to say much, looked desolately into the vold before him, his gaze lifting. His words, faintly spoken, said, “I know what you’re thinking, but no one can replace her. Once she’s gone, she’s gone.”
After that day, he had no intention of recovering, but instead he began to intensify his self–harm.
Not eating or sleeping, feeling extremely tired, just closing my eyes for a while as if I were fainting.
As for when he appeared relatively sober, his condition still seemed abnormal, as he would smoke almost frantically, as if trying to find a way to vent his emotions.
The assistant, who was considered a close person to jeffrey, had to muster up the courage to persuade him: “Mr. Castro, Tunderstand. that you are feeling sad, but life must go on Forgive me for being frank, but if you continue to smoke and torture yourself day and night like this, you might fall ill before receiving any news about Ms. Arnold.”
“That’s line too.”
Jeffrey dared not close his eyes now. Every time he shut his eyes, Bella would stare at him with ley coldness, even with a resolute look as if she was about to leave.
He asked bitterly, “If I were dying, would she come back to see me for a moment?”
He really missed Della and thought of her so much that he was almost dying.
In addition, I couldn’t focus on anything at all.
The assistant dared not speak and could only change the approach to persuade: “How about sending a private detective to look for her again? There are no records of her leaving anywhere, so she must still be in Westhedge. Maybe she’s just traveling somewhere in the
area.”
Jeffrey said that he was not moved, but moments later, his voice hoarse, he said, “No need, she is determined to avoid me. Even if I manage to find her, I will only face her cold eyes. Besides, do I still have the face to see her?”
All of this is his own doing now, if only he had trusted her a little more, things wouldn’t have turned out like this.
