Dean coldly glanced at Zayden, silently cursing him in his mind. He was indeed a difficult opponent.
His gaze then fell on Quinn, his eyes flashing for a moment before he spoke in a deep voice, “Mr. Grant, you deliberately provoked me, didn’t you? Do you really think I can’t tell the difference between a small company and the Grant Group?”
“Integrity has nothing to do with the size of a company,” Zayden replied nonchalantly.
But Dean’s forced smile faded, and his eyes toward Zayden grew increasingly hostile.
He gritted his teeth, his words laced with threat. “Mr. Grant, don’t try to change the subject. I’m asking if I can participate in today’s resolution!”
Zayden didn’t continue the conversation, feeling it was a waste of time.
The shareholders who had been bought by Dean noticed how easily Zayden’s few words had shifted the direction of things and realized they wouldn’t be able to push through with this matter today.
Other shareholders still had things to discuss, and if Dean kept talking, the board meeting would come to a standstill.
“Dean, stop making trouble. Isn’t the yearly dividend enough for you? Mr. Grant has helped us earn a lot these years, and your ventures were supported by the company’s dividends. Go back now.”
Dean hadn’t expected that, despite offering such a great benefit, those old men wouldn’t budge.
He certainly hadn’t anticipated that Zayden and Quinn’s few words would turn all his years of effort into nothing.
“You’ll regret this!”
Dean reluctantly glared at Zayden, muttered a harsh remark, and angrily left with his documents.
Quinn immediately followed, calling out to Dean.
“Mr. Walker, since you don’t want to continue working with us, then according to the contract, you’ll need to pay me the five million breach fee.”
Dean, who had previously shown a friendly face, now glared at Quinn with a fierce expression.
“You’re just a girl who’s new to the scene. Do you really think you’re that capable? If it eren’t for Zayden protecting you, you’d be…”
After finishing his words, Dean angrily threw his sleeve back and left.
This time, Quinn didn’t follow. She knew that Dean would definitely pay the money, and there could be no delay. Otherwise, his chances of re–entering the company would be even slimmer.
With this compensation, it could also cover their losses for the next three months.

Her presence had unintentionally given Zayden a perfect excuse. Someone who backed out halfway would never make it easy for him to enter the company.
It was like trying to plant flowers and having them wither, but without even trying, the weeds grew wild.
Not long after, Zayden, surrounded by people, walked out with confidence. He chatted with a few people. before heading toward Quinn.
The two exchanged looks for a long moment before, almost simultaneously, they both smiled with joy.
Zayden asked, “How was it? He didn’t give you any trouble, right?”
Quinn slightly restrained her smile and shook her head. “No, I successfully got the breach fee. These three months weren’t for nothing.”
Zayden, hands in his pockets, gazed at Quinn’s smiling face.
“Today, by accident, you’ve helped me a lot. But next time, don’t act alone. Don’t let yourself suffer.”
Quinn proudly lifted her chin. “Don’t underestimate me.”
At that moment, the two forgot all previous grievances, only remembering the satisfying battle they had just fought, and most importantly, they had won.
An invisible distance between them subtly shrank.
But as they calmed down, they also realized that Dean wouldn’t give up so easily.
Meanwhile, a frustrated Dean angrily made a phone call.
“You said that if I dealt with Quinn, I’d be allowed to return to the Grant Group. I did as you said, but you didn’t keep your promise. How am I supposed to settle this with you?”
The person on the other end of the line, upon hearing this news, laughed in anger. The voice was altered with a voice changer.
“Earlier, they said you were too eager for quick success, but today, I truly understand. Dean, you rushed to be the center of attention at the board meeting without even securing your position with Quinn, and now you’re blaming me?”
Dean refused to listen to his excuses.
“If you hadn’t hinted at me, how would I have… It was your mistake that got me kick out by Leroy.”
They argued for a long time before the other side couldn’t take it anymore.
“Fine, considering our many years of friendship, I’ll help you out. From here on, just focus on one person.”
As night fell, Zayden and Quinn appeared together at the bottom of Quinn’s apartment building.
They chatted and laughed for a while. As Quinn turned to head back, Zayden called out to her and, summoning his courage, gently pulled her into his arms.
