Josephine had never been kissed by a man before.
Upon regaining her senses, she was so furious that she mised her hand to hit him.

A glint of amusement sparkled in his eyes as he turned and swayed slightly, making his way toward the bathroom. With a swift kick, he flung ‘the door open and mumbled, “Honey, could you help me take a bath?”
The bathroom was spacious, with a large circular bathtub at its center. The tub was filled with warm water, and a layer of deep red rose petals floated on the surface.
Michael stepped into the bathtub, causing the warm water to overflow.
Josephine pursed her lips.
She had studied traditional medicine and had dissected countless human bodies. However, this was the first time she had to help a fully grown man take a bath
In her moment of hesitation, the impatient reprimand from Michael echoed in her ears.
“Get over here right now!”
His voice carried a fierce, commanding, and violent tone.
After a moment of hesitation, Josephine rose to her feet
She was now a fool, bound to obey his words.
Rumor had it that Michael was a man of volatile temper, unpredictable, and prone to fits of violence that had left many of his housekeepers injured. Initially, Josephine had dismissed these stories as mere hearsay. However, now it seemed that his temper was indeed as bad as they said, as he preferred people to bend to his will.
Michael sat in the bathtub, a sharp glint in his eyes.
A few drinks didn’t get him drunk. He was merely trying to test Josephine.
After all, he had spent many years navigating the cutthroat world of business. He never made a habit of trusting others easily, and that included her.
That night, Josephine had witnessed something she was never meant to see.
Although Michael had inquired about her afterward, he still harbored doubts.
Jorvan had sent two bodyguards to hunt down Josephine. When they were discovered, they were found unconscious on the ground. It took a few days for them to regain consciousness and when they did, they were disoriented and confused. They couldn’t even explain how they had passed out, only that everything had suddenly gone dark before they lost consciousness
Such a feat was certainly not something an ordinary person could achieve.

Michael was uneasy. He had rivals who were also after his life.

If Josephine played the fool, regardless of whether she was sent by the competition or not, he wouldn’t let her live to see the dawn of the next day.
After all, the Sommer family didn’t care much about their foolish daughter. Even if she died, the worst- case scenario would be the Jaywalker family offering them a sum of money. The Sommer family wouldn’t dare to protest much.
Josephine crouched by the bathtub, observing Michael as he sat in the tub, his entire body drenched.
His white shirt, now drenched in water, became semi–transparent, clinging to his lean and muscular frame. The outline of his muscles was faintly visible.
Adding to his flushed handsome face and hazy black eyes, he was practically a scene of seductive allure, almost picture–perfect.
Inebriated, Michael tugged at his tie. Two buttons from his shirt popped off with a snap, revealing his firm honey–toned musc
Quickly, Josephine reached out, assisting him in removing his shirt.
His clothes, soaked through, clung to his body. She struggled to remove them, her fingers touching his body several times and her breathing quickening.
She had never had such a close encounter with a strange man before.
The aroma of brandy, mixed with a hint of wood, surrounded her as his breath lingered near. Josephine’s heartbeat quickened as she struggled to maintain her composure.
I’ve seen my fair share of corpses in my medical studies. There’s no need to be nervous.
She struggled immensely to help him remove his clothes, the effort leaving her drenched in sweat.
Michael had an impressive physique. His sturdy body was devoid of any excess fat. His abs were flawless, and his drenched black suit pants clung tightly to his lean, muscular legs.
There was a scar on the left side of his chest as if he had undergone surgery.
Josephine’s face flushed in embarrassment and she rose to leave when a large hand firmly grasped her

Michael gestured toward his suit pants, indicating her to take them off.
The usually cold–hearted Michael seemed less so after a few drinks. It was almost as if he was clinging to her. Feigning ignorance, she mumbled, “Take it off your-
She saw his face turn cold, and his eyes were quickly filled with malice.
Before she could even gather her thoughts, he had firmly grabbed her wrist and gave it a strong pull.
Suddenly, she lost her balance and tumbled into the bathtub.

Water splashed everywhere, pouring into Josephine’s cars and nostrils, causing a painful choking sensation as it flowed down her throat.
Before Josephine could comprehend what was happening, everything went black. Suddenly, a strong hand pulled her above the water, allowing fresh air to rush in her lungs.
She was half–kneeling in the bathtub, panting in a state of disarray. Her entire body was soaked.
Michael glared at her and said through gritted teeth, “old you to take it off!”
The threat in his tone was unmistakable..
Fine, a drunkard is devoid of humanity. I won’t waste my time arguing with him!
While gasping for air, she shot him a glare, then reached out toward his belt.
The expensive metal belt buckle was surprisingly slippery in the water.
Josephine had never undone a man’s belt before. Several times, it slipped from her grasp, her fingertips poking his firm abs.
She kept her head down, her face almost pressed against his body, completely oblivious to what was happening above her head. Michael was looking down at her, his gaze subtly changing
She seemed unaware that her drenched dress had tumed semi–transparent, revealing just enough to spark the imagination. With her bent posture, her neckline was exposed, offering him a full view.
Her hair was damp, with water droplets trickling down. She bit her lip, and a few transparent droplets adorned her face..

Michael found himself fixated on her lips, a lump forming in his throat as he swallowed hard
Perhaps she was unaware of her own allure. She was soaked to the bone, her eyes were damp and
shimmering, and her lips were slightly parted in an innocent expression. She had no idea how irresistibly captivating she was to men.
Suddenly, Josephine’s fingers slipped down.
Michael emitted a low grunt and shot her a glare.
Josephine’s mind buzzed. She hastily withdrew her hand, feeling her neck flush with heat.

Given his fiery temper, Josephine reckoned he would surely yell at her.
She looked up, only to be taken aback.
Michael’s gaze remained locked on her, his eyes cool yet with a deep–seated burning passion in their depths. It was as if ice and fire had fused, creating an expression that she found utterly incomprehensible.
His gaze made her heart race, and instinctively, she wanted to run.

She stood up, forgetting that he was still holding onto her wrist.
Michael stretched out his arm, pulling her into his embrace.

Josephine leaned against his chest, her head lifting in a furry of panic. An overwhelming scent of wood rushed toward her, and her lips were sealed.
Her heart pounded wildly.
Michael firmly held her in his embrace. He bent his head down, claiming her lips with his own.
A thought flashed through his mind.
She was his bride. Even if he were to take her tonight, it would be completely justified.
