Chapter 64
Regina tilted her head slightly toward Julian, her eyes closed as she drifted off into a quiet, relaxed slumber.
None of them made a sound, their gazes lingering on her peaceful expression
She looked unusually gentle when she slept, far from the guarded, detached demeanor she displayed when awake.
When talking to people, she often wore a formulaic smile that felt cold and distant. But in sleep, her face was unguarded, soft, and almost fragile,
As if on a whim, Stephen reached out and lightly tapped her cheek.
Regina stirred slightly, letting out a faint hum
It seemed as though she was about to open her eyes, but she was too exhausted.
She tilted her head to the side, resting it on Julian’s shoulder and slipped back into sleep.
Julian glanced at her with a complicated expression, while Stephen, undeterred, moved as if to poke her again.
Before he could, Julian stapped his hand away and scolded in a low voice, “Keep your hands to yourself. Just do what you’re supposed to do.”
Stephen recoiled, rubbing his hand with a disgruntled huff. “Not like you’re doing anything. You just like bossing people around, don’t you?”
Julian shot him a cold glare. “Stop spouting nonsense”
Stephen huffed in defiance, reluctantly resuming his task of wrapping the bandage.
Liam’s gaze drifted to Regina’s sleeping face, and he muttered. Was she being sincere just now?”
The other two glanced at him and Liam frowned.
I don’t think so. What she said sounded way too good to be true. It felt fake to me.”
Stephen shrugged nonchalantly. “Didn’t sound that great to me. Nothing special, really”
Liam scoffed, narrowing his eyes. “Quit pretending. When she praised you just now, you practically lit up like a kid on Christmas morning. Don’t act like it didn’t get to you.”
Stephen’s eyes widened, and he bristled. “What are you talking about? 1–didn’t?”
“Keep it down!” Julian scolded sharply, “Do you want to wake her up?”
The two brothers immediately fell silent, their eyes instinctively shifting back to Regina.
She remained asleep as she was too exhausted.
- r. but it didn’t matter. She simply sank deeper
She didn’t care about the hushed argument happening nearby. She knew they were talking about her, into her slumber, entirely unfazed by their chatter,
Stephen finished bandaging her wound and glanced around. “Where did she throw the hospital gown?”
Julian carefully laid Regina on the bed, sucking her in gently. “If we can’t find it, just let it be. Don’t wake her
At the meanwhile, his attention was caught by the sleek smartwatch on her wrist. “Hey, isn’t this the watch you designed, Julian? The one that monitors Humanity in real–time?
Julian leaned in, a bit surprised. “Yeah, it is.”
Stephen picked up her watch and opened the app. He scanned the QR code and casually accessed her Humanity, his actions drawing a frown from Julian “What are you doing?
Stephen grinned slyly. “Authorization. With this, I can monitor her Humanity fluctuations anytime.”
Julion shot him a puzzled look. “Why do you even care about tracking her Humanity?”
“Because I’m a pervert,” Stephen replied with a teasing smirk, earning an exasperated glare from Julian.
Before Julian could retort, Stephen exclaimed, “Her Humanity are at II! Can you believe it She’s actually gained one!*

Julian snatched the phone out of his hands. “Seriously? Can Humanity even increase like that?” he muttered, thoroughly perplexed.
Stephen nodded. “Sure, it can increase, but it’s rare and difficult. Honestly, I have no idea what could’ve made her Humanity go up
Julian suddenly stiffened, his sharp eyes darting toward the window.
Outside, faint, fragmented voices drifted in, “The middleman said this task is urgent. The two who tried before us didn’t make it, so we can’t afford to fail”
Liam’s ears perked up. “Someone’s here, he said cautiously.
The faint smile on Stephen’s face vanished as his gaze darkened, shifting ominously to the window.
Without a word. Julian reached for the gun holstered at his waist, his m
his moverments calm and precise.
Two men quietly pecked their heads out. The last guy even took out her window. Shouldn’t be hard for us to grab her…”
Their whispers abruptly ceased as their eyes met those of the three men inside.
Julian raised his
s gun without hesitation, pointing it squarely at them.
Meanwhile, Liam had already shrugged off his suit jacket and rolled up his sleeves, revealing a mantis blad
blade strapped to his forearm. Stephen leaned lazily against the windowsill, resting his chin in one hand with an almost casual smile. “Good evening,” he greeted. The two men’s lips twitching as they awkwardly murmured back, Good evening
The two men quickly pulled their heads back, stumbling over their words. “Sorry, we must’ve walked into the wrong ward.”
Stephen’s eyes curved into a chilling smile as his fingers suddenly shot out, clawing viciously at their heads. “Oh really? I’d love to know how you managed to get lost, on the third floor!”
Then, a sharp, pained scream echoed through the night. “Ouchti
