Chapter 75
A dead silence hung over the hospital room.
Leila knelt on the ground, trembling as she felt Preston’s murderous intent. Desperately, she tried to stand, but his pristine white sneaker pressed firmly on her shoulder, pinning her down.
“You stepped on her earlier, didn’t you?” Preston’s voice was barely more than whisper.
Leila’s lips tightened, fear silencing her.
Without warning. Preston kicked her with such force that she flew across the room, crashing into the wall mounted–TV. The screen shattered as she crumpled to the floor with it
Groaning in pain, she looked up, only to see him standing
tanding over her like a flash of lighting, his blade poised to strike.
Π
Sparks burst from the mantis blade on his arm. An invisible force had stopped him mid–action. His cybernetic enhancements had been hacked.
Preston’s sharp eyes scanned the room, landing on Zack by the window.
Her cybernetic eye glowed red, lines of code racing through it as she held his arm in place with sheer skill.
Preston’s arm could not move at all.
Leila seized the moment to scramble toward the door.
Hugh swung it open for her, “Go, Lella!“”
Before she could escape, Roy intercepted them. He grabbed Hugh and flung him like discarded trash, knocking both siblings to the ground
Preston saw his chance and tried to strike again, but his arm would not budge.
Zack was sweating nervously, continued to control Preston’s prosthetic. “Not on my watch. As long as I’m here, don’t even think about laying a finger on my mom!”
A cold snor escaped from Xavier. “Confident, aren’t you?”
Zack shot him a proud glance. “I’m not just confident. I’m the best hacker you’ll ever see. None of you stand a chance,”
Xavier was not impressed. He tilted his chin and said arrogantly. “Let’s see what you can do.
All the prosthetic Zack could control lit up in his field of vision.
He locked onto Zack’s ear implant, hacking into it to release an electromagnetic pulse.
Zack screamed, clutching her ears as sparks flew from them. “Ah!”
“How is this possible?” Zack stammered, staring at Xavier in shock.
Xavier smirked, holding upitwo fingers in a mock victory sign. “Call me master.
Zack was still stunned in place.
With Zack incapacitated, Preston regained control. He wasted no time and hanged at Leila
Hugh jumped in front of Leila, protecting her though himself was terrified. “Please, Preston Regina already took her revenge! Leila’s arm is gone. Isn’t that enough? If you continue, you’re meddling in our family business!”
Roy stepped forward and cast Hugh aside ruthlessly, stomping on his shoulder. “Enough” She doesn’t get to escape her sins, and neither do you. You’re live one who set all this in motion.
Hugh’s voice cracked. “I’m your friend’s father!”
Ray’s face darkened, and he kicked him even harder. “Well, from now on, they’re not my friends!”
Hugh was utterly speechless with shock.
On the other side, Preston saw his opening and wasted no time attacking Leila.

Chapter 75
Leila had lost her arm and could only roll on the ground, desperately dodging, her voice trembling. Julian, are you really going to stand by and watch them attacking me? You’re the head of the mechanical riot squad! Even if you’re not a cop, isn’t it your duty to keep the peace?”
Julian nodded. “Right, you’ve got a point. I shouldn’t just stand here”
Leila let out a sigh of relief.
“Which is why I’ll be leaving now,” he added, turning on his heel. “Steve, she’s all yours.”
Leila’s hope crumbled as Steve stepped forward, slowly unbuttoning his suit sleeve and pulling out a red–glowing soft blade, stretching it tight.
Julian stepped out of the ward and bumped into Harley, who was pressed against the wall her face pale. She trembled, asking, “Are you going to kill Zack, my mom, and my uncle?”
Julian did not respond. He glanced at his phone.
He could still check Regina’s Humanity.
Half an hour ago, it was still increasing, like +10, +3.
Now, it was decreasing like -10, -10, -10.
He sighed in frustration. “Regina isn’t dead, so they won’t. But they’ll wish they had”
Harley was on the verge of tears. “Isn’t that too cruel?”
“Cruel!” Julian tucked his phone away, his face unreadable. Is it cruel when your mother beats a sickly girl?”
Harley was silenced, her eyes wide as she watched him walked away-
Before long, the door opened, and the smell of blood mixed with something metallic hit her nose.
She covered her nose, disgusted and peeked into the room.
Preston walked out of the ward with a grim face.
His prosthetic blade retracted, and his bloodied hand still held a phone. He spoke slowly into it. “I won’t be going to school today. Yeah, I’m at the hospital, taking care of Regina.”
As he spoke, his blue eyes met Harley’s.
Harley pressed herself against the wall, wishing she could vanish into it
Preston’s gaze grew colder. I won’t be home for dinner tonight. Don’t wait for me.”
Hu hung up, walked up to Harley, towering over her like a wall.
Harley was enveloped in his shadow, too scared to even breathe.
Preston’s lair was kained with blood, and he looked like a demon, his eyes cold as he stared at her. “They’ve all passed out, so listen carefully.”
Harley bit her lip, trying to stay calm and listen.
Preston’s voice was filled with malice. “Regina is under our protecting. If your family touches her again, it wop’t be just passing out next time Understand?“
Harley nodded vigorously, afraid to say anything.
Preston turned and left.
The others shot her disdainful glance before following him out.
run into Steve
Thinking no one they have left, Hurley cautiously entered the ward, only to run
She shuddered in fright and greeted him politely, “Hello, Steve”
Steve pulled out a cigarette, but he put it away when he remembered he was still in the hospital. “Don’t bother me.”
His face was covered in a mix of red and blue blood as he walked past her coldly. “I have no ties to your family.”

is not surprised and watched Steve leave, then peeked into the ward.

Her face turned pale, and her heart dropped. Next, her scream was echoing in the ward. “Ah!”
Preston ignored her, walking past the shocked onlookers and heading toward the elevator. He made his way upstairs to Regina’s operating room.
The lights of the operating room were still on.
Liam, who was guarding the entrance of the operating room, approached quickly. It’s done? How are they?”
Steve’s face was dark. “Pretty good. Hugh’s going to have to rely on prosthetic arms and legs from now on.”
Regina getting beaten could not be separated from Hugh.
As her father, he incited and acquiesced others to beat Regina.
No matter how harsh or hateful Leila was, she was only following, Hugh’s order.
Hugh was the real culprit.
That was why they dealt with him in their own way.
Hugh had begged for mercy, promising never to hurt Regina again, even offering compensation and an apology. But they did not care about that
They only wanted a real outcome
A outcome that would make the perpetrator truly suffer.
