Chapter 80
“It’s all Margot’s fault! If she hadn’t insisted on coming over, Reina would’ve never found out!” Jericho yelled, his frustration boiling over.” Just as he was about to snap, Margot’s message popped up again.
[Guess what your husband’s doing right now?]
[He knows you ran away, but he’s too lazy to look for you. He’s too busy treating my friends to dinner, lol!]
She even attached a picture of the fancy restaurant and Jericho’s anger hit a new level. Without a second thought, he grabbed his car keys, spun around and stormed out of the house.
In a VIP room at a high–end restaurant, Margot was surrounded by a group of girls, all practically worshipping her.
She was dripping in designer clothes and flawless makeup as she proudly boasted, “My hubby promised me a villa in Silverleaf Heights after the baby’s born. I’ll even make sure you all get a room there.“}
One of the girls, clearly impressed, gushed, “You’re so lucky! Mr. Greene is so hot, so rich and so good to you!“}
Another friend, more cautiously, asked, “But… you’re pregnant, right? Does Mr. Greene’s wife know? Be careful, she might cause problems.”
Margot just sneered, completely unbothered. “That old woman doesn’t have the guts to do anything. No matter how much I rub it in, she never says a word. No wonder Mr. Greene’s not into her anymore.”
The others laughed, getting her unspoken meaning. Jericho, hearing every word, felt the rage bubbling up inside him.”
He kicked the door open and stormed in. His eyes locked on Margot and without wasting a second, he grabbed her by the hair, dragging her out of her seat.
The girls froze, unsure of what to do. As they tried to stand up, Jericho’s glare kept them firmly in their seats.
With a grip on Margot’s neck, he growled, “Who the hell gave you the nerve to hurt Reina? Who told you to send those messages?“}
Margot fell to the ground, embarrassed and realizing her secret was out. She couldn’t argue anymore, her only hope now was to use the baby to try to talk her way out.
Her eyes filled with fear as she looked up at him. “Mr. Greene, I’m still carrying your baby. You can yell at me, you can hit me, but please… don’t hurt the baby.“}
She really shouldn’t have brought up the baby.
The second Margot said it, Jericho snapped. His anger, barely held together by a thread, finally blew. Finding another woman was one thing, having a kid behind Reina’s back was a whole different level of betrayal.
He had told Margot to be careful. Over and over again. He made sure she knew the rules. And yet, she went behind his back, skipped the pills and got herself pregnant on purpose.
If it weren’t for that, maybe Reina wouldn’t have walked away so cleanly. Jericho’s jaw clenched, his face twisted with disgust.}
“A child‘? You mean the trap you set? That calculated, disgusting move? That thing isn’t mine.”
Then, with no hesitation, he slammed his foot into Margot’s stomach.
She let out a blood–curdling scream and collapsed on the floor, clutching herself as she curled up in agony. Blood seeped through her dress, trailing down her legs and pooling beneath her.
Jericho didn’t flinch. He just stood there, eyes cold, watching her like she was some broken thing he didn’t even recognize.
He pulled out his phone, hit record and aimed the camera straight at her. “Reina,” he said flatly, “I handled it. Look. She means nothing. You’ve always been the only one who mattered.“>
With that, he turned and walked out. He got into his car and took off, tires screeching as he sped toward Reina’s dad’s place.
She wasn’t close with Vaughan Jett anymore; she had dropped his last name long before she ever married Jericho.
They hadn’t spoken in ages, but he was still holding on to a sliver of hope that if Reina had nowhere else to go, maybe, just maybe, she would gone back there.
Vaughan, the big name in every charity dinner and fancy auction. The guy who used to build things with his bare hands before he got rich. He and Mavis–Reina’s mother–had a real love story once. The kind that people talked about like it was something out of a book.”
