Vero’s loud voice made everyone’s attention shift to the fact that Yasha was supposedly the child of Elowen and Maya… Maya’s face darkened and she shook Elowen’s arm, signaling him to say something.

He seemed to be angered by Vero’s words and left after dropping that sentence, with Maya quickly following him. Halfway down the hallway, Elowen suddenly stopped, looking at me with disappointment. “Callista, you never let your friends speak about me like this before, but now you’ve changed. I didn’t care whether he was disappointed or not, I just hoped he would leave quickly. I didn’t even spare him a glance, grabbing Vero heading straight to find the person in charge to discuss the competition.
