Chapter 27
“Did you hear that Vincent? Sierra doesn’t recognize you!” Louise said with a wild laugh.
“If you care so much about this wretched woman, why don’t you shoot yourself first? Aim for… your legs.”
With that, Louise tossed a gun toward Vincent.
I watched her movements, my brow furrowing. Seizing the moment while she and Vincent were locked in a standoff, I quickly began. using the small knife on my silver bracelet to cut through the ropes binding my wrists.S
This was a gift from my older brother, Stanley, who had given it to me for self–defense, just in case something like this ever happened.) Vincent picked up the gun, the barrel aimed squarely at Louise. But Louise responded by pulling out another gun, pressing it against my forehead.5
Louise’s smile was wicked as she taunted, “Vincent, do you really think I’m still the naïve girl I used to be? To deal with you, I’ve made full preparations.”
It seemed she wasn’t planning on harming me… yet.
The next second, her lips curled into a malicious smile. “Today, I’m going to drag both you and Sierra down to hell with me.”
“Let Sierra go. She’s innocent. If you have a problem, come at me. It was me who killed your parents. It has nothing to do with Sierra.”
Vincent immediately lowered the gun, his eyes fixed on me. “Sierra, I will save you, even if you can’t forgive me.“2
I tumed my head away, utterly repulsed by Vincent’s actions.
For a moment, I wished I could just die here!!
But then, thoughts of my parents, my brother’s concem, and Darwin’s gentleness flooded my mind, and I let go of that thought.
“Vincent, I want you to shoot yourself. If you don’t, I’ll end her right here!“%
Louise pressed the gun harder against my forehead as she spoke.
“Fine, fine, I’ll do it. Don’t touch her,” Vincent said, his voice full of hesitation.
His eyes were filled with worry as he looked at me, and then he raised the gun, the barrel slowly pointing downward.
He pulled the trigger, and soon after, Vincent’s legs gave out. He fell to his knees, blood quickly staining his pants and pooling on the floor
Trying to endure the pain, he gritted his teeth as he looked up at Louise. “Are you satisfied now?”
“Of course….” Louise paused for two seconds, then smirked. “No, I’m not satisfied!“%
“You killed my parents for this filthy woman, How could I ever let you go so easily?”
“And Sierra, this wretched girl who ruined my family–she continued before letting out a piercing scream
“Sierra!”
Bang-
In the blink of an eye, the balance of power shifted dramatically. Louise’s arms were twisted behind her, her hands bound.
She hadn’t expected me to free myself. Flustered, she shouted, “Sierra, if you let me go, I’ll let you leave. I’ll even make way for you and
Vincent
“I don’t want your charity,” I said coldly.
After snatching the gun from her hand, I knocked her out
t with one swift blow. Then, I crouched down and cut the ropes binding my
ankles, finally gaining my freedom.
I used the ropes to bind Louise before noticing Vincent’s gaze, which had never left me.”
I chose to ignore him completely.
As I walked toward the door, Vincent, still on his knees, grabbed my pant leg. “Sierra, can’t we go back to the way things were?”
“I can change. Please don’t leave me.“)
“Vincent, you’re filthy. I don’t want you anymore,” I said calmly.
With just one sentence, Vincent’s grip weakened, his hands falling powerlessly to the ground.
With no further obstacles, I quickly left the place.
