Chapter 13
Tomorrow will be the third day after the surgery.
So, they just had to wait one more day.
Jovan comforted his son, “It will be soon.”
As the day approached, Jovan did not feel happy, but instead began to feel anxious.
During these three days, he keenly sensed Sarahi’s disappearance, which was known to no one else.
And he couldn’t do anything.
Can only be passively waited for.
Finally, the third day arrived.
Jovan stayed awake until twelve o’clock, but he didn’t feel sleepy. He casually put on some clothes and went out. He didn’t have à destination, he just wanted to meet some people, maybe among them was Sarahi.
Just from midnight to dawn, Jovan wandered around the neighborhood near his home and the places Sarahi usually liked to go, but he didn’t come across anyone like Sarahi.
The panic in the heart grew bigger and bigger.
It was not like this before…
In the previous two occasions, Sarahi quickly returned to his side after changing her identity.
And as long as she appeared, no matter what face she had changed into, Jovan could recognize her at a glance.
As the sun rose, Jovan was exhausted.
He hesitated and went to the hospital.
In the hospital, Denisse recovered well.
Her face started to regain color, and she was able to get out of bed and walk. When she saw Jovan, her eyes were filled with joy. “Jovan, are you here to see me?”
Jovan absentmindedly looked around.
There were many people in the hospital, and he was trying to figure out which one was Sarahi.
It was not until Denisse pulled him twice that he snapped out of it and casually uttered a few words.
Suddenly, a person who looked similar to Sarahi appeared in front of Jovan, and he instinctively stood up. However, his sleeve was grabbed by Denisse, who pouted with a look of grievance, “Jovan, why are you ignoring me?”
Jovan suddenly pushed her away and shouted loudly, “Sarahi!”
He rushed over and grabbed the other person’s hand.
The passerby who came just to see a doctor was startled and pushed him away, saying, “Who are you?”
It felt like a bucket of cold water was poured over my head.
Not Sarahi.
Jovan stood still, staring at the figure walking away, constantly pondering, “Where could Sarahi be…”
Why didn’t she show up?
On the side, Madan Hubbard hurriedly helped Denisse up and said discontentedly, “Jovan, what’s wrong with you? Deni just had surgery. Do you want something bad to happen to her?”
Denisse immediately said with a grievance, “Mom, don’t blame Jovan, he was just worried about his sister,”
“I don’t know where my sister went.”
Madam Hubbard’s face darkened, “Who knows where she went? You’re having such a major surgery, and she didn’t even show up. It would be better if she died outside!”

As soon as these words were spoken, Jovan’s eyes turned crimson. “Shut up!”
Madam Hubbard was startled.
The first time she saw Jovan like this, “Did I say something wrong? Since Deni’s surgery, has Sarahi ever come out to show concern?”
“She was a selfish, heartless person. I shouldn’t have given birth to her back then. It would have been better if she never appeared in my life!”
Jovan’s face became increasingly unpleasant.
His fist clenched, and he whispered, “No, I won’t.”
“She would definitely come back.”
Madam Hubbard was somewhat scared by the absent–minded look, not understanding what was happening.
When Ernesto got home, he immediately anxiously asked, “Has mom come back?”
Jovan ignored him and went straight into the room.
He came into Sarahi’s room and only then did he realize that the photo that had always been placed on the bedside table was now reduced to just one
frame.
The only photo of the two of them was torn into pieces and lay in the trash bin.
It was torn by Sarahi before she left.
Jovan suddenly trembled all over, as if he understood something. He squatted down and poured out all the fragments, tremblingly trying to piece them back together.
But no matter how hard I tried. I couldn’t piece together the past.
