“Don’t tell me you’re engaged to this blind man?”
Lucian’s voice dripped with disdain as he spoke about Quillon. The mockery and contempt in his tone reminded me of the way he used to look at me, something I never liked and never wanted to face again.
“Lucian, are you really sticking your nose into my business?” I glared at him, irritation bubbling up. “Who I marry or get engaged to has nothing to do with you!”
With that, I yanked my hand from his grasp, pushed him away with all my strength and grabbed Quillon’s arm, trying to pull him away. “Quillon, I really don’t know why you brought me here…” I muttered under my breath, my frustration evident. “You don’t even show your identity and you’re blind. Are we just here to be humiliated?“W
I was a bit angry, mixed with helplessness, as I pulled Quillon along while complaining under my breath. But when I turned around, I realized I had been pulling nothing. Quillon was still standing motionless in place.
“You’re engaged to Lyra?”
Quillon looked around in confusion, innocently nodding his head. “What, do you want to join the celebration too?”
“Do you know she’s mine?” Lucian’s furious shout sent a wave of silence through the entire room.

Standing behind Lucian, Astrid’s face was pale, her eyes red with tears, yet she didn’t dare step forward to confront me.”
Then, with a light laugh, Quillon chuckled.M
My heart tightened, afraid that Lucian might lash out and I rushed over to Quillon, trying to pull him away.”
But just as my hand brushed his arm, Quillon calmly stopped me, holding me in place with a firm grip. He turned his head to look at me.
With the dark sunglasses blocking his gaze, I couldn’t see his eyes clearly, but for some reason, I felt a strange sense of reassurance. “Lyra is yours and Miss Lennox is also yours? What era is this, Lucian? Are you still playing the old game of multiple wives?“}
It was the first time I saw Lucian being humbled like that.
I couldn’t help but chuckle, holding it back awkwardly, retreating behind Quillon.”
“No one has the right to judge me,” Lucian sneered, “Who do you think you are?”
Lucian’s face turned red with fury as he tightly gripped Quillon’s collar, his fist raised threateningly.”
“Is this how the Prescott Family treats their guests, Mr. Thorne? He sent a gift and this is what he got?”
Lucian shot me a quick glance but didn’t drop his fist.
“Lucian, if you hit him, I will call the police!”
My desperate shout made Lucian hesitate, his fist lowering, but his eyes were burning with anger.
“Lyra, you’re actually threatening me over a man you’ve just rnet?“}
His words felt almost absurd to me.”
He could discard me repeatedly for Astrid, who he barely knew and humiliate me in front of everyone.”
But the moment I dared to stand up for myself, I became the villain.
“This is my fiancé. I’m not defending him, should I defend you instead?”
Lucian couldn’t take it any longer and stormed up to me. “Lyra, I might have thought you were joking the first time, but continuously provoking me…this really isn’t funny.”
His eyes fixed on my stomach. “You’re carrying my child and say you’re going to marry someone else. Don’t you think that’s ridiculous?“} Everyone’s attention shifted to my belly.”
“Lucian, have you forgotten? It was you who told me to get rid of the child that day.“W
Lucian stumbled back a few steps, his expression one of disbelief.
“Lyra, did you really get rid of the child?” His voice trembled as he spoke.
