“I want to use a completely new version of myself to slowly build a real relationship with you.”
Half a month later, Lester and I held our engagement party.
Distinguished guests from all walks of life gathered at the engagement party. Lester held my hand the entire time, introducing me to everyone.
“I once saw this gown in Italy. There’s only one in the world and Mr. Fox bought it for his fiancée.“}

Lester put his arm around my shoulders and joked with a smile that he would definitely give way in the future.

A loud voice shattered the pleasant atmosphere of the engagement banquet.
I turned to look at the man who had suddenly appeared, a little confused.}

Silas‘ outstretched hand froze mid–air, his eyes almost overflowing with disbelief and sadness. “It’s me, Silas! We’ve been together for over a decade. You’re saying you don’t remember me?“} “Did Lester do something to you?“}
I shook my head, stepping even farther away from him. The fear inside me grew stronger.
“I understand now. You must still be angry with me, right?“}
“I even collected your mother’s ashes. Look.”
Silas took out a small box from his pocket. Inside was a small clump of sticky powder that looked rather dirty.”
I was so frightened that I hid in Lester’s arms. Silas caused a commotion at the banquet and even physically fought with some people.} Lester had him thrown out.”
