Chapter 10%
Every line between the words brimmed with my deep love for Silas and the man’s thoughtful care for me.
The sweet feeling between a young couple practically jumped off the page.
“The memos on this phone are also about my daily life with you.“N
Skeptically, I opened the phone and scrolled through each memo. They were indeed all related to Silas.
A sudden dull pain struck my heart. My hand trembled and I accidentally tapped open the draft box of the memos.
In that deleted memo were recorded the names of ten women, along with their preferences.}
I froze momentarily, then pointed at the memo and asked him.N
“What is this?“N
Silas looked guilty and quickly pressed delete again.N
“Silas, you say we’ve been together for over ten years, but why are our memories only from ten years ago?“}]
“Weren’t we together during these past few years?“N
He hesitated, unable to answer.
I sighed and casually flipped to the last blank page of the diary. Only then did I discover that the blank space of these ten years was a suicide note written by my own hand.N
Inside, it recorded the hurt I had suffered from Silas during these ten years.
The things Silas had done to me during these ten years were simply atrocious.
Looking at the densely packed handwriting, tears streamed down my face uncontrollably.
It was as if those events were playing out before my eyes once more.
“Silas, are these things also real?“N
My hand trembled as I held up the diary. Silas‘ face instantly turned deathly pale.
He wanted to explain, but found himself unable to speak.
“Perhaps I truly loved you. Otherwise, I wouldn’t have willingly endured such grievances to stay by your side for these ten years.“>
“But now, I really don’t love you anymore.”
“Goodbye, Silas.”
I wiped away my tears and stood up, but Silas suddenly pulled me into his arms.
“Julie, please don’t leave me, okay?“}
“These ten years, I truly know I was wrong.”
Silas shoved all of his body into me, ignoring my resistance.}]
I screamed and struggled until my clothes were torn. Just as I was in despair, a figure appeared.
Lester grabbed Silas and rained down punches on him like a storm.
It wasn’t until the security guards came and pulled them apart.
Lester’s eyes were bloodshot with anger as he fiercely warned Silas.
“Silas, wait and see the Gill Family pay for this with their lives!“>
I hugged Lester, wanting to comfort him.
Lester held me tightly and gently soothed me.”
I never saw Silas again after the engagement party, but I heard that the Gills vanished overnight.
Therefore, no trace of Silas could be found.
Everyone was widely speculating that the heir of the Fox Enterprise had flown into a rage over a woman. Still, no one knew who that woman was..]
They only said she looked very much like Silas‘ former wife.
From then on, Juliette Spencer no longer existed. There was only Julia Sterling.
This Julia was free from those painful memories, a Julia who wouldn’t feel heartache.
A Julia who was doted on by Lester in every possible way.
A few years later, Lester and I had our own child. At the baby’s full–month celebration, I received a small pink dress.
The sender was marked as “Ten Years.”
Tears filled my eyes as I stared at the tiny pink dress.”
*Come over here and take a family picture!”
Lester waved at me. I threw the pink dress and the card into the trash can.
A brand–new life shouldn’t be constantly entangled with the past.
A brave person must always move forward and never look back.” (The End)
