Reuben and Devon did not take too kindly to Aden’s words.
“What do you mean, ‘your child‘? It’s only a 33% chance, so how does that make it yours?”

“Mr. Griffin is right. What, do you think the two of us are invisible?” Devon added in a sharp tone.
Aden glanced at their indignant expressions and pulled his hand back. “If I say the child’s mine, it’s mine. I’ll bet a hundred
million on it. Dare to wager?”
Devon shot him a sidelong glance. “A hundred million? Who are you looking down on? I’ll put a billion on the child being mine.”
With an arm wrapped around my waist, Reuben gave the two of them a disdainful look. “If we’re playing, let’s play big. I’m
putting down 10 billion that this is my child.”
Devon and Aden exchanged a look before speaking in unison, “Deal.”
Watching the three of them getting all worked up with their competitive spirits, I quietly raised my hand. “I bet the baby belongs
to all three of you.”
They rolled their eyes in unison, dismissing my words as nonsense.
I thought back to the storyline in my mind and felt reassured. This was a sure win.
I could already see the 30 billion waving at me from afar.
Aden noticed the silly grin on my face and asked, “Eliza, what’s your stake in this bet? Planning to take everything for free?”
His words struck a nerve. I patted my still–flat belly. “The bet is right here.”
He looked at my stomach and frowned.
“Eliza, you’re sure there’s no one else, right? I don’t want some other guy showing up later to fight me for fatherhood.”
