Chapter 6
After seeing the blood all over the walls and floor, the stiff pup in the corner, and my deathly pale face connected to a weirdly
postured body, Cecilia screamed shrilly and leaped into Toby’s arms in fright.
Toby hugged her and said in a gentle tone, “Don’t be afraid, Cissy. Those are just dummies they’re using as a stand–in for their
act. They think that they can deceive me with this! That bitch dares to collude with these people to take over my pack just because
she
gave birth to an heir!
He glared viciously at Barney and Ethan, adding, “I’m going to reject my mate bond with her tomorrow! I’m not going to
acknowledge the pup she birthed as my heir either! Her pup will never be my heir!
“As for you two, if you still want to remain within the pack, you’d better advise Joyce to come back and apologize to Cissy
immediately!”
“She’s right in front of you, well and truly dead! Where do you expect us to look for her?” Ethan yelled angrily.
“We grew up together, Ethan, so I don’t want to have a huge falling out with you over this! If you like a bitch like Joyce, you can
have her, but only after she comes back and dissolves her mate bond with me!”
Cecilia’s voice was filled with unconcealed joy. “Are you really going to reject your mate bond with her, Alpha?”
Toby’s tone changed immediately when he replied to her. “Yes! Once we find Joyce, I’ll divorce her immediately! Are you ready to
become my new mate, Cissy?”
Cecilia hid shyly in his arms and said sweetly, “I’ve long been ready.”
Ethan spat on the floor, unwilling to take part in this farce any longer.
In order to keep his job, Barney had no choice but to follow Toby in searching through the whole basement, trying to find some
clue as to how I escaped.
I found it simply ridiculous and amusing!
What else did he want to find when my corpse was lying right in front of him?
