I never finished my sentence. The floor rushed up to meet me as everything went black. I felt strong arms catching me as I collapsed.
When I regained consciousness, I was lying in a hospital bed. Voices drifted in from the hallway. Carefully, I swung my legs over the side. of the bed and moved toward the partially open door!!
-she’s fine,” a male voice was saying. Just exhaustion and slight dehydration. Nothing serious.”
“Thank you, doctor,” Dominic replied.
“I may ask,” the doctor continued, “Isn’t she the same girl you brought here years ago?”
There was a pause before Dominic answered. “Yes.”
I didn’t understand. Dominic had brought me to this hospital before? That wasn’t possible.
“The situation has improved since then, the doctor said. “But she still needs to take better care of herself.”
“Thank you, Doctor,” Dominic replied. “Td appreciate if this stayed between us.”
“Of course, Alpha King Doctor patient confidentiality is sacred.”
I quickly retreated to the bed as footsteps approached, before they could spot me. Climbing back into bed, I reattached the IV. If Dominic had brought me to this hospital before. Why couldn’t I remember?
The door opened, and Dominic entered.
“How are you feeling?” he asked, and I realized he knew I was awake.
I opened my eyes to find him studying me with genuine concern. “What happened?”
Dominic hesitated. “You fainted. The doctor says it’s just exhaustion and stress. Nothing to worry about.“”

After Dominic left, I waited a few minutes before slipping out of bed again. I needed answers about when he had supposedly brought me here before. Making my way down the hall, I searched for the doctor’s office.
Finding it at the end of the corridor, I approached quietly, hearing voices from inside. I was about to knock when I heard a familiar voice that froze me in place.
“I just need more time, Doc, the female voice pleaded.
“We’ve discussed this,” the doctor replied. “We’ll raise our child together but I need you to be honest with him about the baby.”
“I can’t tell him yet the woman insisted, “I need to secure my position first,”
The doctor said. Tm tired of hiding. I want to be there for our child’s birth”
“Soon,” the woman promised. “Once he becomes Alpha with the help of that fool Alexandra, we’ll have everything we need. Then we can raise our child together”
