Chapter 8
He suddenly turned unnervingly tender, pressing my hand against his cheek. His skin was ghost–pale, but in his eyes burned a near–maniacal obsession.
“Elena,” he whispered, “I’ll have someone send you the surgery footage soon… After you watch it, maybe–just maybe you’ll forgive me. Even a little?”
I yanked my hand away, nausea twisting in my gut. Watching his expression shatter right in front of me, I said coldly:
“This pack hospital has a damn good psych ward. You should check yourself in–soon.”
Dylan gave me a sickly, obedient smile.

“Alright. Whatever you say.”
In that moment, it finally hit him–after nine long years of screwing me over–what he’d truly lost.
But for Dylan, it didn’t matter anymore.
He was ready to spend a lifetime chasing the ashes of what he destroyed.
Or so he thought.
Three days later, I stood beside Lucas Knight at our grand Bonding Ceremony.
By the time Dylan came crashing through the doors like a madman, the silver–haired Elder was already reading the vows.
He stumbled in just in time to hear me, dressed in white satin, smiling up at Lucas

as I spoke the words:
“I, Elena Silverstone, willingly bond myself to Lucas Knight as his soulmate.”
“No-! Elena! You can’t!!!”
It was like watching a proud Alpha crumble into dust. Dylan Blackwood, the once–unshakable leader of Nightfall Pack, collapsed onto the red carpet, his legs giving out beneath him. His voice cracked apart, broken and desperate, a man drowning in his own ruin.
“Please, baby… we haven’t even severed our mate bond yet! I never agreed! Don’t–don’t give yourself to someone else!”
The Alpha of Silver Moon Pack stared down at him with pure disgust flashing in his cold, sharp gaze.

“Alpha Dylan Blackwood, out of respect for the Old Alpha of Nightfall Pack–who had the decency to send a wedding gift–you’re walking out of here alive today.“”
“But you’re not welcome here. Get out.”
Tears streamed down Dylan’s face as he sobbed, his voice shredded and hoarse, every word dripping with raw agony:
“Elena, I know… I know I failed you. Over and over again. Please, just give me one last chance. I swear I’ll change!”
His trembling hand reached for mine, desperate, hopeless.
“I can’t breathe without you. Every night I dream of your smile… of the love I threw away… Elena, I love you. More than anyone

ever could.”
His broken confession ripped through the hall, sharp and brutal, slicing the heavy air apart.
The veins in his temples bulged like he was about to burst from the sheer torment.
Suddenly, with a choked sob, he tore open his shirt–revealing the bloody, raw carving of a crescent moon slashed into his chest over his heart.
“You are my moon! I’ll do anything you ask- anything! Just don’t leave me!”
The entire hall went dead silent.
And then–I smiled.
A soft, almost pitying smile.

And with it, I crushed what little remained of Dylan Blackwood.
He froze where he knelt, helpless, as I spoke -my voice gentle but merciless:
“I’ve already found true love with Lucas Knight. He’s my soulmate now.”
I laced my fingers through Lucas’s, twisting the knife a little deeper as I added:
“Even if you were the last man standing in this world, Dylan Blackwood, I’d still choose him.”
The diamond ring gleamed like fire as Lucas slid it onto my finger, the heavy weight of it sealing Dylan’s fate.
Without sparing him a second glance, I took

Lucas’s arm.
Wrapped in the warmth of our bond, Lucas scooped me into his arms, carrying me bridal–style toward the exit.
Until-
A collective gasp rippled through the room.
I turned-
And saw Dylan do something no one could’ve ever predicted.
The silver blade in his hand caught the light, gleaming wickedly.
His face was smeared with blood and tears, his voice a raw, anguished howl:
“You’re just scared of getting hurt again,

aren’t you?! Then let me show you–my heart!”
Before anyone could stop him, Dylan plunged the dagger into his own ribcage.
Blood spread across his chest in seconds, soaking his torn shirt, but he kept screaming:
“Look, Elena! Look at me! This heart- it only beats for you-!”
“Please… just look at me. Just once. That’s all I ask…
Lucas tightened his arms around me as I buried my face into the warmth of his neck, my voice shaking:
“Baby… this lunatic is scaring me. Get me out of here.”

Without a word, Lucas clutched me closer, pushing through the stunned, silent crowd.
He set me gently into the waiting convertible, leaned down, and pressed a kiss against my forehead.
“Let’s go home, my love.”
The engine roared to life.
I never looked back.
I didn’t look at the blood staining the floor.
I didn’t look at the man bleeding out behind
- me.
I didn’t look at the shattered ruins of our past.
I only looked forward–toward the happiness

I had fought tooth and claw to finally claim.
The wind carried my soft whisper away.
“As long as I’m with you, anywhere is home.”
The End.
Book 2: My Mate Deceived Me and Killed My Daughter
When my daughter was on the brink of death, tortured by a terminal illness…
Mark, my mate of ten years, looked at me with guilt etched across his face and spoke softly.
“I’ve heard from the tribe that someone is looking for an Omega to perform the full moon blood marriage ritual. Just one night, and you’ll get half a million dollars.”

Mark’s hand trembled as he reached for mine. After speaking, he slapped himself hard across the face.
“If it weren’t for me, this useless Omega… how could I have let you go through something like this?”
My heart ached for Mark as I watched him struggle every day for our child. I felt the sharp pang of his guilt, but even more so, the suffering our daughter, Anna, was enduring.
Though the idea of the full moon blood marriage terrified me, I still agreed. “If it saves Anna, I’ll do anything.”
I thought that agreeing to it would be the solution–that Anna would be healed.
That is, until I overheard a conspiracy.
