Chapter 218
He looked like he was about to remove the SIM card from my phone–just like before, when he was protecting me from Bobby. Maybe this time, he intended to replace my phone again.”
“No need,” I said quickly, snatching my phone back from his hand.”
“Bella, he’s going to keep bothering you.”
“I know. But let him. This time, I won’t run away from him. If he comes, I’ll face him.“>
“You want to give him a chance, even after you found out he cheated on you because Grace was Anya’s pawn?“}
“I’m actually curious… how did Anya even know Grace? As far as I know, Grace has been working at the same company as Bobby for a long time.“>
Harry shrugged. “About that, just ask Anya directly. I don’t know anything.“>
At one point, I went to visit Anya. I wasn’t just there to congratulate her for making what I thought was the right decision, but also to find answers to pieces of the past I still didn’t understand.}
Sitting in her bright, lavender–scented living room, I asked carefully,
“Actually… how did you know Grace?“>
Anya looked surprised, then gave a small smile. “I didn’t really know her personally. But I knew of her… she’s a friend of a friend. You know what I mean? I have a friend, and Grace is her friend.“}
I nodded slowly, bracing myself to hear more.
“It was just a coincidence… my friend showed me a picture of Grace. But it wasn’t just Grace in the photo. Bobby was there too. Your ex–husband,” Anya said cautiously, watching me with uncertainty. “In the photo… they looked really close. Not like regular coworkers, Bella. I don’t know if you already knew this, but I think… around two years ago, they were seen together in California. Like they were on vacation or something, I don’t really know. But one thing for sure, Grace introduced Bobby as her boyfriend to my friend.”}
I immediately lost my breath. My chest tightened. Even though I had tried to bury all the painful memories, hearing Bobby’s name and the betrayal again made my jaw clench–as if an invisible hand was choking me. That meant Bobby’s relationship with Grace had been going on longer than I thought.
“Bella, are you okay? Do you want some water?” Anya quickly offered me a glass.
With trembling hands, I accepted it. The water soothed my throat, but not my heart. The feeling was still there–the trauma that hadn’t completely healed.}
“I don’t want to continue the story if you’re like this, Bella,” Anya said, looking at me with guilt.”
“Just go on,” I replied softly, trying to smile. “I’ll be fine.“}
Anya looked hesitant. But eventually, she continued.}
“I asked Harry directly… to make sure the man in the photo was really Bobby. After he saw your wedding photo, we were sure. At first, we thought maybe it was just someone who looked like him, with the same name. But when we dug deeper–his profile, workplace, everything–there was no doubt. It was your husband, Bella.”
She took a deep breath, then spoke in a more serious tone.}
“And from that rnoment… I started to plan. I asked my friend to get Grace to test Bobby’s loyalty to her. And what happened? Bobby got worse. And I’m sure that’s when you started to notice something was off with him, right?”
I could only nod.
“Bella…” Anya looked at me with deep empathy. “A man like Bobby doesn’t deserve your love. You deserve someone much better.“}
“I know…” I whispered. “And the proof is–I’m here now. I’ve chosen my own path.“}
“I’m sorry…”
I shook my head with a faint smile. “No need. In fact, I want to thank you, Anya. Even though we didn’t know each other back then, you already cared about me. You thought about my life.”}
Anya chuckled awkwardly. “Well… you know the reason. But now, I’m not going to force anything anymore. You’re right, I shouldn’t be selfish. I should make the most of the time I have.”}
We hugged. It was warm. And in silence, I prayed in my heart that Anya would live a long, happy life. A cheerful woman like her deserves all the goodness this world can offer.
The wedding day of Anya and Harry had finally arrived. It was a simple ceremony, attended only by family and close friends. Yet the atmosphere felt warm and full of love.
Anya looked stunning in her chosen white gown. And Harry… he hadn’t stopped smiling since morning. He looked incredibly handsome, like the happiest man in the world, finally marrying the woman he loved.
After the vows were exchanged, they were officially husband and wife. Anya’s smile bloomed as the ring slid onto her finger.

When the bouquet toss began, for some reason, everyone pointed at me to stand at the front. Some even nudged me forward, as if I were part of the single crowd eagerly waiting for a turn to walk down the aisle.
I chuckled softly and shook my head, politely declining. Then I stepped away from the group of eager bouquet catchers.
Aunt Caroline, who was standing not far from me, approached. “If I had two sons, I would’ve asked one of them to marry you, Bella.”
I blushed, then hugged Aunt Caroline. The warmth of her embrace felt like a mother’s hug. And for some reason… I suddenly missed my parents terribly. Out of nowhere, tears began to stream down my face, and I couldn’t hold them back.2
“Irish!”
That voice made me freeze. Slowly, I turned toward the sound.?
