Onyx came running out, latching onto Felix’s leg as sobs wracked his small body.
“Let go of my mom! You’re not allowed to hurt her!“}
The sound jolted Felix back to reality. His grip slackened and Gianna collapsed, coughing violently.
He stood frozen, his gaze dropping to her swollen cheek, the bruises blooming across her neck.
A flicker of pain crossed his eyes, not for her, but for someone else.}
His chest heaved as his own hands curled into fists. Then, with no warning, he struck himself once, twice, each slap echoing through the corridor.
“How could I do this?”
“How could I bring myself to lay a hand on Adeline and Henry? I’ve already taken everything from them…“}
Despair flooded his eyes as he raked his fingers through his hair, tugging as if punishing himself for the irreversible damage he had
caused.
Gianna struggled to her feet, her trembling hands reaching for Felix’s. She pressed his palm against her cheek, her eyes brimming with devotion.
“Felix, if you’re angry, then hit me. It’s okay; I can endure anything for you!“}
Her voice wavered, but her resolve did not.
“But Onyx is still so young… Today, Adeline dared to hurt him right in front of me. And that Henry, he scratched Onyx’s face!“>
I’m not here, who knows how they’ll torment him in the future?”
She took a shaky breath, her voice turning softer, almost pleading.
“If you still can’t let go of Adeline… then Onyx and I will leave. I swear we will never appear before her again, alright?“}
Her words dripped with sincerity, making Felix falter. His grip loosened ever so slightly.
Seizing the moment, Gianna gently nudged Onyx forward, sorrow lacing her tone.}
“Onyx, say goodbye to your father. No matter what happens to us in the future, we won’t trouble him again.“}
The child pursed his lips, his small frame trembling. Then, as if unable to hold it in any longer, he burst into loud, heart–wrenching sobs. “I don’t want to leave Daddy! I don’t!”
Felix’s breath hitched. His chest tightened as he pulled Onyx into his arms, holding him close. His voice, for the first time that night, softened.
“Alright… If Onyx doesn’t want to leave, then stay with Daddy.”}
His eyes burned red as he gently patted the child’s back, his heart trapped in an invisible bind.
Gianna hurriedly nestled against his side, her expression soft, feigning quiet understanding.}
Felix hesitated, his emotions in turmoil. After a long, drawn–out moment, he finally reached out, pulling her into his arms.}
A triumphant glint flashed in Gianna’s eyes. She had won, or so she thought.”
Just as she was about to bask in her victory, the silent assistant suddenly stepped forward.
His fists clenched, his expression dark with unspoken resentment. His voice, however, remained chillingly steady.”
“Mr. Young, while tracking Madam’s whereabouts earlier, the hotel sent over surveillance footage.“}
With a sharp flick, he pulled out his phone, tapped the screen and handed it to Felix.s
Felix’s softened expression vanished in an instant, his face hardening as his eyes fixed on the screen.
