Odessa’s hands trembled so violently that the teacup slipped from her grip, shattering into a thousand pieces on the floor.
“Liars! All of them are liars!”
“The Gibson family, what a calculated scheme!“&
Homer’s face darkened, his jaw tight with fury. Leaning on his cane, he paced the living room several times before finally halting and giving a sharp command.!!
“From now on, no one from the Gibson family is to have any contact with us.”
But the divorce still didn’t happen.
It wasn’t out of soft–heartedness, but because of Solomon.”
He might have been their son’s last hope.
But Brynn didn’t see it that way.
That night, when he learned everything, it felt as though lightning had struck him.
He sat there, motionless in his wheelchair, staring into nothingness as if his soul had left him.
“These ten years….” he murmured, his voice breaking. “All of it was a lie?“}
“I married her not because of fate but because of manipulation?“>
“Then everything I lost was the price of a lie?”
No one spoke.”
Sylvie walked in, holding a warm towel, her movements soft as she knelt beside him and gently wiped the sweat from his forehead.
Her voice was hesitant as if she were afraid of his reaction. “Brother, are you okay?“}
Brynn lowered his head slowly, his gaze fixing on her face, familiar yet now filled with the deepest loathing.§
At that moment, all of his control snapped.
Without warning, he reached out and gripped Sylvie’s neck.
His voice was hoarse, a raw roar that rumbled like an animal in pain. “Why did you lie to me?! Why did you ruin me?!“}
Sylvie froze in terror, locking her in place as she crumpled to the floor, her hands desperately grasping at his arm.
“Brother! Let go! I didn’t! I didn’t do it!”
Her nails scraped against the back of his hand, but Brynn didn’t flinch. His eyes were wild, bloodshot, and maddened as if every ounce of sanity had been ripped away.
This was her fault.
Solomon, hearing the chaos, rushed in with tears streaming down his face. “Don’t hit Mommy! You can’t hit my mommy!“}
In his panic, he grabbed a nearby table lamp and swung it at Brynn.
The lamp collided with Brynn’s head, blood pouring from the wound, and he collapsed, his body going slack in an instant.}
“Daddy, don’t hit Mommy…” Solomon sobbed, his small hands trying to push Brynn’s limp body as though he could somehow stop the madness.
The man before him was no longer the powerful figure he once was. Now a broken shell, he couldn’t resist the fury of two people unraveling around him.
Sylvie, finally freed, collapsed to the floor beside him, gasping for air, her face streaked with tears and snot.
She stared at the blood–staining Brynn’s face, at his unseeing eyes, and her voice quivered as she whispered, “Brother, from now on, let’s just be together.”%
Brynn lay there, unmoving, as if he hadn’t heard her, or perhaps he had heard every word too clearly.
“I can’t leave you.”%
“I still have Solomon. The three of us can live well together.”
“Even if you have nothing now, I still believe in you. You used to be so amazing…”
Her voice faltered, growing softer, slower, as though she were speaking to him, or perhaps just to herself.
Brynn stared up at the ceiling, his silence stretching on, thick and suffocating.
The light in the room wasn’t strong, but it was enough to catch the tear that slid down the corner of his eye.
And then, for the first time, he cried.%
Not because of the wound!
Not because of the pain
But because the years he had sacrificed, the choices he had made, all turned out to be nothing more than a cruel lie &
Ten years
Ten years he had spent, only to be left with a joke!
A joke that had destroyed his life, his family, and the one person he should have cherished the most!

A joke that had destroyed his life, his family, and the one person he should have cherished the most. Now, here he was, paralyzed in bed, with nothing left.
She married Hayden and lived happily ever after.
And he didn’t even have the strength to rise from the bed.
