Chapter 10

Only after seeing Tristan’s name pop up as Husbanddid Cassandra remember that when Tristan came to dinner the night before, he’d changed his contact name in her phone

At the time, Tristan had justified his actions confidently, saying that since they were now married, it was only natural to save him as Husband

Without waiting for her consent, Tristan had boldly picked up her phone and made the change himself

Staring at the blinking word on the screen, Cassandra felt warmth spread through her chest. Pressing the answer button, her voice unconsciously softened. Hello? What’s up?”

Tristan’s deep, magnetic voice resonated through the phone. Are you at the office right now? Don’t leave after work. I’ll pick you up, and we’ll go home together.”

He’d been waiting for this moment for a long time

A gentle blush crept onto Cassandra’s cheeks. Alright, she said softly before quickly hanging up

The moment Cassandra ended the call, she looked up and met Aidan’s dark, angry gaze. His expression was stiff, a mix of resentment and mockery as if he’d caught her committing some shameful act

Cassandra, maybe you owe me an explanation. Why exactly did your phone show a call from Husband?Aidan’s voice was cold and accusatory

Cassandra frowned, annoyance flickering inside her, but she kept her voice calm. Aidan, that’s my personal business. Since when do I have to report to you? You have no right to question me.”

Seeing the rising tension, Clara quickly intervened, softening her voice. Aidan, don’t be angry. Cass is probably just doing this to upset you. There’s no way she’d get married this quickly.”

Aidan took a breath, trying to calm down. Clara was right. Cassandra had always adored him. There was no way she’d marry someone else this soon. She was obviously trying to provoke him

Cassandra, if you think playing these games will make me jealous, you’ve succeeded. But you’d better be careful. Don’t push your luck,Aidan warned icily

Cassandra’s expression remained indifferent, her voice icy yet composed. Aidan, you’re overestimating yourself. Who I marry is none of your business.”

She placed the document firmly on the desk. The contract is right here. I’ll finish handing over my work shortly. You have three days to think it over. If you don’t respond by then, I’ll sell my shares to someone else.”

With that, Cassandra straightened her back and walked out of the office without another glance

As soon as she was gone, Aidan angrily tore the contract into shreds, frustration boiling over

Damn it! When did Cassandra become this stubbom

Clara cautiously approached him, whispering, Aidan, maybe Cass really has met someone else, and that’s why she’s demanding money. But she’s really asking for

too much.”

Aidan’s eyes flashed dangerously. Forget the 30 million! She’s not getting a single cent. If she wants to leave, she’s leaving with nothing.”

He had always thought Cassandra was sensible, but he never expected her to be so greedy. He had completely misjudged her

Clara raised an eyebrow slyly. Exactly. If she’d asked for a few hundred thousand, maybe it would’ve been acceptable.”

Aidan wrapped his arms around Clara, sighing in relief. You’re right, Clara. You’re always the sweet and sensible one.”

Clara nestled closer to him, murmuring, Don’t worry, Aidan. I’ll always stand by your side. But now that we’ve upset her, she probably won’t give us those design sketches.”

Aidan smiled smugly. Don’t worry. We still know her computer password. I checked earlier. Her designs are almost finished. Once she’s gone tonight”

Clara smiled triumphantly. Perfect. By the way, I bought some new lingerie and sleepwear. It’s your favorite color, pink.”

Aidan grinned, forgetting his worries instantly. You really do know what I like. I can’t wait to see it tonight.”

They quickly returned to flirting, their earlier concerns forgotten entirely

Meanwhile, Cassandra returned to her office to finish handing over her work

It didn’t take long. She trusted her team completely and had already neatly documented everything

By the time she was done, the workday had ended

After doublechecking everything, Cassandra packed her things, eager to leave and give the two all the space they needed for their scheming

Sure enough, right after Cassandra left, Clara slipped quietly into her office

After carefully checking that no one was around, she quickly opened Cassandra’s computer, copying the design files to a USB drive

Clara’s lips curled into a smug smile. Cassandra, you’re just as foolish as ever, she murmured. I’ll gladly accept your brilliant designs.”

Once finished, Clara quietly slipped away, believing she hadn’t been noticed

But from the shadows, Cassandra watched Clara’s retreating figure with a faint, cold smile. Everything was going according to her plan

Turning away confidently, Cassandra headed downstairs

Tristan’s car was already waiting at the entrance, sitting inside, he gazed toward the office building’s lobby with quiet anticipation

From today onward, Cassandra would officially become part of his daily life

Night had fallen, and the city lights sparkled against the darkness, casting a glow on the road ahead

When Cassandra exited the building, she spotted Tristan’s car immediately and quickly made her way toward him

Opening the door, she slid inside, offering an apologetic smile. I’m sorry. Have you been waiting long?”

Tristan glanced sideways, his dark eyes unusually gentle. Not long. I just arrived.”

Cassandra relaxed, buckling her seatbelt. Then, let’s go home.”

After briefly stopping at Eleanor’s house to load Cassandra’s packed luggage, Tristan offered to let Eleanor live with them

Eleanor politely declined, insisting she was perfectly comfortable on her own. Besides, she pointed out with a playful smile that the young newlyweds needed their privacy to build their relationship

Eventually, Tristan compromised by agreeing to hire a caretaker to assist Eleanor at home

with everything settled, Cassandra climbed back into the car with Tristan, who drove her to their new home

Tristan lived in Nebula Heights, the most prestigious residential area in downtown Belvery. The complex was renowned for its exclusivity, lush environment, and tight security

We’re here,Tristan said softly as the car pulled to a stop

Cassandra nodded, stepping out of the car. The driver was already unloading her luggage

Noticing her nervousness, Tristan’s expression softened. Relax, Cassandra. It’s just us here. There’s only a housekeeper who comes in occasionally.”

Cassandra took a deep breath, relieved but still slightly anxious

Even though they were married, they hadn’t spent much time together. Moving in felt like a big step, especially given Tristan’s intimidating reputation

Yet, after getting to know him better recently, Cassandra had begun to feel more comfortable around him

The elevator chimed softly as it reached the top floor. Tristan opened the heavy wooden door to reveal a spacious and brightly lit living room

Decorated in elegant shades of black, white, and gray with tasteful touches of warm accents, the apartment blended modern style with coziness perfectly

Floortoceiling windows offered a stunning view of the glittering city lights below, creating a breathtaking living portrait

Do you like it?Tristan asked, studying her reaction closely

Cassandra’s eyes lit up in admiration. It’s beautiful!”

Tristan smiled softly, warmth evident in his voice. I’m glad you like it. This is our home now.”
