Chapter 2
I nodded without changing my expression.
“Okay.”
After saying that, I turned around and went back to the bedroom to pack up, ignoring their reactions.
Since I had decided to leave completely, I didn’t want to leave any traces here.
The laughter from outside the living room came through the door, and my hands folding clothes paused slightly.
“Selena, let’s name the baby Ashley Chandler, okay?”
Even though I didn’t see it with my own eyes, I can imagine the deep affection on Freddy’s face when he said these words.
And my heart had long been riddled with wounds by him.
I suddenly remembered last month when I rushed home, carrying a souvenir I had bought specifically for Freddy from abroad.
But I saw Freddy and Selena walking back hand in hand just outside the door.
Unlike the terror on Freddy’s face, Seléna looked at me with a puzzled expression and asked me if we had walked through the wrong door.
“Did you walk into the wrong house? This is my home.”
I didn’t say anything, my eyes fixed on Selena’s swollen belly.
Ten months after I left home, my husband moved in with his lover, who was also pregnant.
What happened during this period is self–evident.
Freddy rushed over and stood in front of Selena to introduce me.
“This is my wife, Elianna.”
I thought that after hearing this, Selena would be more restrained, but she instead put on a full hostess attitude and invited me into her home as a guest.
As we passed by each other, she whispered in a voice that only the two of us could hear, “I heard you’ve been married to Freddy for three years? A substitute is always a substitute, can’t compare to me, the rightful owner!”
“When I came back, weren’t you obediently giving up your seat for me?”
Anger surged, I couldn’t hold back anymore, I swung my palm and slapped her face, all the longing from the ten months apart from Freddy turned into anger.
The police were not called until the neighbors heard the noise.
We were all taken to the police station, but because it involved family matters, the police didn’t want to get involved and could only let us go home first. just arrived home, Bruno and Sabrina, who rushed over upon hearing the noise, started scolding me angrily.
Scold me for making such a big fuss when I came back, making the neighbors all laugh.
For so many years, you have been scolding me, saying that all the years of studying were in vain. And then you actually resorted to violence. If something really happened, you would never let me off.
They have always known that Freddy and Selena were together, and they even supported them wholeheartedly.
In just one year, Selena had become the perfect daughter–in–law in their hearts.
I was the only one kept in the dark.
My mouth was filled with bitterness.
And Freddy walked up to me with red eyes, trying to pull my hand and persuade me.
Elianna, I never thought of betraying you, it’s just that Selena’s health is not good. The doctor said she only has half a year to live at most, and her only wish is to be a mother, to have her own child.”
“She was after all my lifesaver, I couldn’t bear to let her die with regrets…”
I had thought about discussing with you before, but you were abroad. I was afraid that talking to you would disturb your learning process and distract you, so I decided to wait until you returned to the country.”
