Chapter 55
It was 3:00 am when a consistent ringing woke Diana from her sleep. Still half–asleep, she reached for her phone and opened her sleepy eyes seeing it was a call from Vincent.
Diana answered the call. “Hello.”
“Diana,” Vincent replied.
“Yes, what is it?”
The call went silent for a few seconds. When Diana thought Vincent wouldn’t say anything and was about to hang up the call, he spoke.

“Diana, the news on the internet has blown out of proportion. Gabby is sensitive about her image, which would ruin her reputation as a public figure if those rumors kept spreading. She’s still a young woman, after all.”
Diana went silent momentarily before softly asking, “Vincent, what exactly do you want me to do?”
Vincent replied, “Just like what you did during the last press conference, we need you to step up and give a clear explanation on this matter.”
After listening to his words, the corners of Diana’s lip curved slightly–she wanted to show an indifferent smile. She tried lifting the corners of her lips several times, but for some reason, she just couldn’t smile in the end,
There was no greater sadness than losing all hope. Even though she had let go of this relationship, she still couldn’t believe that Vincent would do this to her–he was undoubtedly humiliating her.
He and his mistress were already being this brazen, yet he still had the nerve to boss Diana around and expect her to clean up the mess, doing it all with such arrogance and no shame.
Diana’s tone was indifferent. “Why do you think I’ll help you?”
Her refusal instantly set Vincent, who was on the other side of the phone, into a furious
rage.
“Diana Gyleon! Are you picking a fight with me again? Do you know how much this matter can affect Gabby? She’s still so young. Are you trying to ruin her career completely?” Vincent accused.
Diana could still feel the coldness in Vincent’s tone even through the phone, and she had nothing to say about this. Whatever the condition was, would never stand up and settle this mess.
she
Vincent gave a cold sneer and accused, “Do you still remember your position, Diana Gyleon? Do you not care at all when scandals about your husband with another woman are flying around the internet?
“Are you just going to let those gossip paparazzi and shameless media outlets twist the story however they please?”
A hint of sarcasin flashed across Diana’s eyes. So, Vincent still remembered their relationship as a married couple, but still cheated even though he knew it was wrong.
Diana wondered if Vincent thought they could continue living like nothing happened as long as she didn’t know he cheated. But even if she ignored the elephant in the room and didn’t say anything, it didn’t mean she was a fool who knew nothing.
Diana didn’t bother arguing any further and hung up the call. She then immediately switched her phone to silent.
On the other hand, Vincent kept calling Diana numerous times, but she didn’t pick up again.
Looking at the missed calls, Vincent’s expression became darker by the minute. He wasn’t a patient person, to begin with. In his teenage years, his bad temper got him into more than a few fights.
Diana had always been the most popular girl on campus because of her beauty. Even back then, the number of people who had their eyes on her was endless, and Vincent always used brute force to scare those pursuing her away. In his mind, Diana could only be his.
Vincent threw his phone to the wall, resounding with a loud thud. Gabriella was jolted awake by the noise, panic written on her face as she sat up in bed. “Vincent, what happened?” she quickly asked.
Gabriella got off the bed barefoot and turned around to look at the phone lying in the corner of the room. She then walked toward Vincent and snuggled up affectionately against his back. “Did you fight with Diana?”
