Chapter 56
Gabriella gently caressed Vincent’s back and placed her face on it, her tone gentle and seductive. “Don’t be angry with Diana. She doesn’t understand you, so getting upset over her is not worth it.”
As Vincent turned around and hugged Gabriella, he peppered small kisses on her neck, slowly trailing down.
When everything was finished, Gabriella had fallen asleep, but Vincent stayed up all night.
For some reason, Diana’s face suddenly popped into his mind.
She had always been gentle and composed, both when they were dating and after they got married. She never argued with him, let alone picked fights or gave him the cold shoulder.
As he stared at the ceiling, a wave of frustration washed over Vincent. When had Diana changed so much?
It was morning the next day, and the sun was shining brightly.
Diana, who had woken up without an alarm, felt quite refreshed. After brushing her teeth, she made a simple breakfast.
It was funny how things turned out. She had never known how to cook before, but after she married Vincent, she gradually learned some basic cooking skills.
Everyone in Heyton kept saying that the dignified Vincent was head over heels for her. Even when he had a lot of high–society women to choose from, he still chose to marry Diana, whose background wasn’t even considered top–tier.
They said Vincent favored her too much, that he was willing to give up countless options just to be with her, and had done so much in this relationship. However, she was confident that her love for him didn’t fall behind his, and her efforts weren’t less than his. But in the end, it had repaid her with betrayal.
The truth hit her like a slap in the face–the love she thought she had was nothing but lies.
The moment she came to her senses, Diana realized one thing–when tears outweighed love in a relationship, it was a sign to walk away.
When Diana arrived at the company, the receptionist called out to her with a smile, “Ms. Gyleon, there’s a package for you.”
When Diana walked closer, she saw it was a bouquet of flowers and a small gift box. After she opened the gift box, there lay a dazzling diamond necklace.
A greeting card was tied to the flower wrapper. Nothing was written on the card, just a smiley face and Charlie’s signature.
Diana knew that it was his gratitude for her. The “Stargaze” livestream event had created quite a buzz, causing a wave of new users to flock to the short video platform.
Some signed up out of curiosity, while others signed up to do live streams at “Stargaze” for a chance to earn money after seeing those celebrities‘ success. Either way, these users had helped the platform generate profit.
Diana’s mood became even brighter after receiving this gift in the morning.
When she returned to her office, she started to take care of some documents. She needed to follow up personally on the matters of the talents under Citrus Bless. Only when they all signed the contracts would everything be considered resolved.
After that, Diana was scheduled to report to set. This was the first acting role in her life, and although she didn’t have many scenes in it, she still wanted to take it seriously,
What she didn’t expect was that Vincent would come to Citrus Bless to talk to her.
He had a serious expression on his face, as if a layer of ice had covered his handsome features. With a dark expression, he stared at her and was about to say something, when Diana spoke up.
“I won’t say anything to clarify things for you,” Diana said with a cold expression. “Besides, those paparazzi were not making things up. All of that news was the truth, right?
“It is true that you’re living together with Gabriella. Even though you claimed you two were siblings, I’ve never heard of a 20–year–old sister sharing a bed with her 30–year–old brother.” Diana’s words cut deep.
“Vincent, did you think that I didn’t know about your cheating?” There was a hint of teasing in her voice, making it hard to tell what she was thinking
about
Just as Vincent wanted to defend himself, Diana interrupted him, deliberately lying, “I have surveillance cameras set up in the master bedroom.”
