Chapter 57
The expression on Vincent’s face froze before slowly fading into emptiness.
The air in the room was thick as he stood there and stared at Diana. He clenched his fist, and his breathing quickened for a split second before returning
to normal.
After a while, he turned his head away. His face remained indifferent, with not a single trace of shame or fear of being exposed. His deep voice rumbled from his throat, but the words were ruthless and cold. “I did cheat, so what?”
Hearing his answer, Diana couldn’t believe his response to his infidelity was simply one sentence. Tears suddenly rolled down her cheeks, and she couldn’t stop them from flowing.
With tears in her eyes, she held a mocking smile. “Vincent Hendrix, remember what you said today! Knowing someone like you is really unforgettable!” Just as she finished speaking, her smile grew bigger as hatred flickered in her eyes.
When he saw Diana’s tears, Vincent froze momentarily before replying with an awkward expression, “Diana, all wealthy men are like this. You need to learn to accept it.”
People always said to keep a wife at home and lovers on the side. So, cheating was just a normal thing to happen to men, especially wealthy men. Diana raised her hand to wipe off the tears on her face. When she lifted her eyes again, all emotions were replaced with cold determination. Yet, the corners of her lip still curled into a smile.
“Diana, I don’t want us to fight because of this small matter.” Vincent sighed isn’t it?”
as
he rubbed his temple, “We’re adults. All of this fighting is meaningless,
Diana stared right into his eyes as she lifted the corner of her lip. “Of course. Why would I fight with you?”
Seeing that she finally stepped back, Vincent also let out a sigh of relief and said, “That’s great. Then you need to follow me. I’m going to hold an emergency press conference later, and I need you to explain the scandal to the
reporters.‘

When he finished his words, he reached out to grab her hand. But unexpectedly, he wasn’t able to do so as Diana took a step back and avoided his outstretched hand.
Silence quickly filled between them again.
Vincent frowned, a hint of annoyance in his tone. “Diana Gyleon, what exactly
do you
want?”

This was a sign of his extreme displeasure–his tone was deliberately heavier, with a hint of warning lingering in it. He was pulling the same move on her again.
Diana snorted. Whenever something had displeased Vincent, he would always warn her with a dark expression. But when he was facing Gabriella, he would never show this side of himself.
He just stood there with a dark expression. Diana remembered the time when his face would light up whenever he saw her like it were yesterday. Yet now, she could only see ruthlessness on his face, as if it were filled with shivering coldness.
Diana calmly said, “Why should I help you?”
Since they had the guts to have an affair, why would they be so afraid of being exposed? It was especially so after they were caught red–handed. They didn’t dare to confront it boldly or admit it openly, but instead forced her, the legitimate wife to clean up the mess.
But why should she help them? She refused.
When Vincent heard her words, his eyes darkened a little more.
“Diana, you can’t live without me. Don’t forget the Gyleon family still needs my help.” His gaze slowly turned icy.
Diana let out a small laugh. “What? Are you threatening me now after losing the argument?”
When a person was disappointed too many times, they would stop being heartbroken.
The searing pain of heartbreak was not something Diana would forget for the rest of her lifetime. Naturally, she wouldn’t forgive Vincent ever again. Her voice was solt, with a hint of laughter, when she said, “Vincent, have you heard this saying before?”
Vincent stayed silent, his expression cold as ice
Diana didn’t mind his silence and continued with a smile, “Even a tame rabbit will bite when it’s pushed too far.”
