Chapter 59
The eight supporting roles that Diana had chosen had personas that were different from head to toe, each with unique characteristics.
Although they didn’t have many scenes, they all had one thing in common–they were all memorable.
Her strategy prioritized quantity without compromising on quality. Under these circumstances, viewers would notice her and have a deeper understanding of her acting when she acted well in her roles.
Before her debut, Diana had also asked some of the industry’s most seasoned actors to teach her everything about acting.
It was during this that Diana discovered something about herself–she actually had a talent for acting.
Maybe she had held too much in during her marriage with Vincent after knowing Gabriella’s presence and needed an outlet to express her feelings. When it came to acting, she immediately loved it as soon as she came into contact with it.
Her love for it was what pushed her to continue going down this path.
On the other hand, as soon as he returned, Vincent spent a long time searching for the surveillance camera before finally accepting the truth–Diana was actually bluffing that day.
It was at night at a bar. With loud music playing in the background, Vincent kept drinking with a dark expression.
“Tell me, Vincent. Do you really not care at all? What if Diana wants to have a divorce?” The person who was talking was Yugo York.
Yugo was Vincent’s university roommate, and he had just returned to the country yesterday. When he returned, he immediately contacted Vincent, his best friend during university, to meet up.
Yugo gave Vincent a complicated look, unsure of what to say. He hadn’t expected that after a few years, Vincent, who had treated Diana as his princess and his world, would love another woman.
If something like this happened to a different man, maybe Yugo would have believed it. But if someone had told him that Vincent had an eye for another woman, he would rather die on his hill than believe it.
And yet, it was Vincent himself who confirmed it.
Vincent took a sip of wine from his glass and leaned back. “Diana won’t ask for a divorce. She can’t live without me. Besides, Gyleon Corporation still needs Hendrix Corporation’s support.”
It was also a good thing that the cat was out of the bag between him and Diana. He wouldn’t have to be secretive about his relationship with Gabriella. What was done was done. Even after realizing Diana played him, Vincent wasn’t really that angry, either.
After all, he wouldn’t have to sneak around with Gabriella like they were part of some underground organization. All he needed to worry about was those pesky paparazzi.
wwwwww.
Yugo didn’t expect Vincent to be so confident, and he choked on his wine. He patted his chest as he coughed violently a few times.
After finally catching his breath, Yugo raised his head, confused, and asked, “But why? Didn’t you only have eyes for Diana before? What happened? Did she turn into some frumpy housewife after you
you two got married? Did her body get our of shape or something?
“No, wait. You guys didn’t have a baby, so technically, her body shouldn’t have changed much. Besides, she is so pretty–real beauty comes from within, not just the surface. So, she wouldn’t look that bad even when she reached her 80s.”
Yugo didn’t understand the reason behind Vincent’s sudden change of heart.
Was it because Vincent stopped cherishing Diana once he had her love? Or did he slowly stop caring as time went on because it was too easy for him to get his hands on her heart?
However, as someone who had participated in Vincent’s youth, Yugo clearly remembered how deeply Vincent loved Diana.
Vincent would pick a fight with someone just because that person, drunk and out of his mind, said something flirty to Diana.
Just because Diana liked the burritos from South Heyton, he would immediately ride his bike to buy the recipe from the owner. As the Hendrix family’s heir, he actually went to learn how to make pancakes because of Diana.
When Diana was on her period, he seemed to be in much more pain than her. Seeing her in pain, his eyes were red all day from worry, and he even ran around to help her feel better.
Just because he saw how much Vincent had cherished Diana, Yugo was genuinely puzzled and surprised at how things had changed now.
Vincent didn’t seem to think that his infidelity was a terrible thing as he quietly lit up a cigarette and took a drag out of it.
Seeing that he was smoking, Yugo raised his eyebrows.
“It looks like your relationship with Diana has really faded. I remembered you decided to stop smoking because she didn’t like the smell of it,” Yugo said. Vincent gave Yugo a side glance, not caring at all. “People change, don’t they?”
“That’s true.” Yugo smiled. He couldn’t even be sure he himself was the same person five years ago, let alone the head of the Hendrix family.
But he was still a bit curious, so he asked, “By the way, what makes you so sure that Diana won’t go through with the divorce?”
Vincent simply replied, “She wouldn’t dare.”
Aside from the sweet nothings in the beginning, most of their relationship was built on the fact that Gyleon Corporation needed a powerful ally- someone they could rely on for support.
Given that, there was no way Diana would be the one to bring up divorce. And that was one of the reasons for him to be so fearless about his cheating. Another reason was that Diana loved him. Otherwise, she wouldn’t have argued with him so many times because of Gabriella.
Judging from all her reactions, she was just jealous. If a woman still had jealousy over a man, it meant that she still loved that man.
Vincent exhaled a puff of smoke, frowning slightly. “She’s becoming unreasonable lately. Maybe giving her a cold shoulder for a while will make her more obedient.”
“Obedient?” Yugo was utterly shocked this time. He remembered Vincent being the one who was obedient in their relationship. Since when did the roles get reversed? This was like turning the world upside down.
But as Vincent’s best friend and a fellow man, Yugo wasn’t in the position to speak up for Diana, as he also knew the flaws rooted in a man’s nature. Yugo simply said, “I hope you won’t regret it later.”
“Regret?” A hint of a smile flashed across Vincent’s eyes as he heard Yugo’s words. “Have you, a playboy, learned to teach people to be good now?” Vincent didn’t even come close to Yugo if they were talking about being a player. After all, he had only had two women in his life–Diana and Gabriella.
But Yugo was different. The number of his exes could practically circle the world. Vincent remembered that Diana’s best friend, Evelyne, seemed to be one of Yugo’s many exes.
