Chapter 66
Diana received a call from Evelyne.
“Diana, the products for next week’s livestream sales are all ready. Do you want to take a look at the livestream script in advance?”
Evelyne was quite nervous. After all, this was Citrus Bless‘ first attempt in livestream e–commerce.
While livestreaming itself had become quite common in the market, venturing into live product sales was a first for them.
Many of the company’s executives were still observing from the sidelines, unsure of what this decision of Diana would bring to the company.
Would it be good, bad, or have no impact at all? That was something they would need to find out.
“Sure, send me the file. I’ll take a look,” Diana replied.
Ten seconds later, she received the file.
As the one supervising things in Citrus Bless, Evelyne wrote these scripts collaboratively with the artists who would be going live. They had gone through several revisions. “Looks good.” Diana’s voice carried a gentle approval.
“I’m getting nervous! What do I do?” Evelyne asked.
She didn’t think she was cut out for business. At the end of the day, everything in the entertainment industry was just another form of product marketing.
The Cornelius family managed the packaging and promotion of Citrus Bless” artists. Whether it was acting or variety shows, it was all about generating profit. The more successful the artist’s career, the more profitable it was for the company backing them.
Citrus Bless was the Cornelius family’s biggest company, and most of the family’s income came from Citrus Bless‘ dividends.
It was only natural for them to want Citrus Bless to grow and thrive.
Diana could tell that Evelyne lacked confidence, so she comforted her, “You need to believe in yourself, and believe in them too.
“No one’s blazed this trail yet, so let’s be the ones to open it up. If we can successfully tap into this market and make it thrive, Citrus Bless will be the one reaping the biggest benefits.”
She didn’t know why, but deep down, Diana had a strong intuition that livestream e–commerce would one day dominate the market.
She had a feeling that the short–video app–Stargaze–founded by Charlie, would soon be a massive nationwide hit.
“You’ll come for the livestream next Friday night, right?” Evelyne’s voice tinged with anticipation.
Diana smiled. “Of course. This isn’t just your and Citrus Bless‘ hard work. It’s mine too!”
“Alright, that puts me at ease.” Evelyne paused for a moment, then added, “Are… Are you doing okay these past few days?”
Diana knew Evelyne was concerned about her. After all, she had gone “home“.
“I’m fine. Don’t worry about me. Gabriella isn’t going to kill me.”
A sigh came through the other end. “Honestly, if I had known things would turn out like this, I would’ve sabotaged your wedding no matter what. I should’ve never let you marry that heartless bastard!”
Evelyne was getting more and more worked up.
“You’re so amazing. Guys who tried to court you growing up could form a line around the globe, and somehow that scumbag got lucky, yet he didn’t even appreciate it. If I’d known this would happen…
“I should’ve just given you that love letter back then. Who knows, maybe you and that guy from the Scott family could’ve ended up together.”
“What did you say?” Diana immediately caught on to her words and asked in a confused tone, “The Scott family? Which Scott family?”
Evelyne, still on her rant about Vincent being a blind jerk, blurted out without thinking.
“What other Scott family is there? The one that could rival the Hendrix family, of course. Though I guess you can’t call it that anymore. He now goes by his mother’s surname, Jackman.” Diana suddenly felt like she had heard something shocking.
If she wasn’t mistaken, she didn’t recall ever knowing someone named Charlie Jackman in the past.
