Chapter 68
“Give it back.” Diana’s expression was cold. She reached out, intending to snatch the ring back.
But in the next second, Gabriella swiftly slipped the ring onto her finger.
Her fingers weren’t as slender as Diana’s, which caused the ring to get stuck halfway.
Gabriella’s expression twisted for a moment, but then she forcibly pushed it the rest of the way in.
Only after she was done did she lift her chin and flash a bright smile at the woman across from her.
“Diana, this diamond ring must be your wedding ring, right? What a shame… I really like it.”
Her voice was light and sweet, but her eyes sparkled with triumph and arrogance.
With Vincent absent, it was just the two of them here, and Gabriella had no intention of keeping up pretenses anymore.
Diana pressed her lips tightly together as her rage burned quietly in her eyes.
“Diana, why are you looking at me like that?” Gabriella giggled, lifting her left hand in front of her eyes, admiring the dazzling diamond on her finger. “I really like this ring. Why don’t you let me borrow it for a few days?”
Gabriella stared maliciously at Diana. “Don’t be so stingy. Once I get tired of it, I’ll give it back, alright?”
She smiled sweetly, but her every word was dripping with mockery.
Met with Diana’s silence, Gabriella’s gaze darkened slightly.
She raised an eyebrow and said with a mocking smile, “Is that a no? Why don’t you go tattle to Vincent, then?”
She wanted Diana to complain, because-
“Guess who Vincent would side with when the time comes?” Gabriella asked sweetly.
The favored one had nothing to fear. Gabriella was the very definition of that phrase.
“Do you enjoy stealing other people’s things that much? You could be a decent person, but you insist on stealing what belongs to others,” Diana replied with thinly veiled contempt. “What’s going on? What are you two talking about?”
Just then, Vincent walked over.
Diana turned to look at him. He was dressed in a black suit, phone in hand–likely dealing with urgent work matters.
Before Diana could speak, Gabriella rushed ahead, pouting pitifully with guilt all over her face.
“Vincent, I just saw this diamond ring on the bathroom counter. It looked really pretty, so I tried it on. I’m sorry… I didn’t know it belonged to Diana. I’ll return it to her right now.” What a pathetic performance.
However, Diana knew that Vincent would still believe it and soften his stance.
Sure enough, Vincent’s tightly furrowed brow eased a little at her words.
Gabriella quickly reached to remove the ring, but it was stuck. She couldn’t pull it off.
Diana remained expressionless, silently watching the show unfold.
Noticing her reaction, Gabriella’s lips curved ever so slightly.

She looked up and asked, “Diana, you’re not mad at me, are you? I really didn’t mean to keep it. You saw it too. The ring’s really stuck. I can’t even pull it off with all my strength.” Diana pressed her lips together, then suddenly stepped forward. She grabbed Gabriella’s left hand and began yanking the ring off forcefully.
“Ow! That hurts!” Gabriella shrieked.
“Gabby!”
Vincent’s face paled, and he immediately strode forward, clamping down tightly on Diana’s wrist.
His strength was immense. Diana winced from the intense pain in her wrist. It felt as though her bones were about to shatter.
“It’s just a ring. If Gabby likes it, just give it to her!” he roared icily.
Without a doubt, he had walked in this scene and assumed Diana was bullying his beloved Gabby again.
“That’s our wedding ring.” Diana suddenly looked up, her face pale.
She knew Vincent was indifferent and cold, but she hadn’t expected him to indulge Gabriella this shamelessly.
“Do you still remember that auction?” she questioned. “Do you even remember what this ring is called?”
It was “the Only Love“, signifying one’s loyal and undying love.
“Give it to her,” Vincent said flatly, his voice devoid of emotion, and sent a chill down her spine.
His dark eyes were deep and heavy, fixed unblinkingly on Diana as he repeated himself.
“Return the ring to Gabbby.”
Return?
A bitter sense of self–deprecating amusement welled up in her heart.
I was clearly her ring, but to him, it had become something she was supposed to “return” to Gabriella,
It turned out that she was the one at fault instead.
Those eyes that once brimmed with love and affection in their youth were now filled only with coldness, like icy blades extracted from the deepest part of a glacier, pointed directly at her.
