Chapter 29 Trevor Casually Gave Her to Others
Olive looked up and suddenly locked eyes with Trevor’s cold, piercing gaze. But she only gave him a calm smile, completely unafraid. Then, she lifted her wine glass and downed the whole glass in one go.
“Are you drowning your sorrows in alcohol?”
A smooth, gentle male voice drifted into her ears. It sounded familiar, she turned around and saw a man standing behind her. It reminded her of their flast meeting
at Reign.
Except this time, she wasn’t in such a sorry state.
He was still just as dazzling as before, though the indifference he once had had been replaced by a graceful warmth.
“What are you doing here?” she asked softly
It looks could kill, the socialites in the room would have rom her to shreds by now with their eyes alone.
Then again, it made sense. Sylvie had said that it was the eldest son of the Smart family in Stratusville who had saved her. That meant the man in front of her must be none other than Cedric
“Well, I saved your life before. Is this how you treat someone who rescued you? Cedric smiled politely as he picked up a glass of champagne. “The last time I saw you at Reign, I thought you were a lounge singer there. Turns out you’re not. You shouldn’t be going to places like that.”
She gave a faint, bitter smile when she heard that, she lifted her eyes to look at him. “Thank you for saving me, Mr. Smart. But you were right, I’m a singer at Reign.
cedric froze for a second. He thought the woman in front of him looked proud, poised, and elegant, Hereyes were deep and heavy with emotion that made one’s heart ache. What land of life had she gone through to be able to say something like that so calmly?
“Is there something you need help with?” he asked.
But before Olive could respond, an unmistakable tension filled the air behind her.
“Mr. Smart, are you taking an interest in my date? Trevor’s voice cut in, cold and sharp.
“Oh? So she’s your date tonight?” Cedric smiled warmly. “My apologies, I didn’t mean to step out of line.”
He was the picture of charm and refinement, a complete contrast to Trevor’s icy presence.
“No offense talon,” Trevor said with a sarcastic smile. His sharp gaze landed on Olive. “It you’re interested in her, Mr. Smart, I could gi
Olive had told herself to be ready for anything tonight, but hearing those words still made her heart clench
I give her to you. How about
“Oh That’s generous of you, Mr. Horton,” Cedre raised his glass slightly, then reached out and wrapped an arm around Clive’s waist, pulling her to his side. “In that case, I’ll gladly accept it”
Trevor’s expression didn’t change, but his eyes darkened as he watched the scene.
Wasn’t this the same women who hated being touched by strangers?
Why hadn’t she pulled away from Cedric yet?
He suddenly remembered what she had said back at the villa about her preference to save others, as they were not as dirty as he was
The memory sparked an unfamiliar frustration in his chest, His hand slowly clenched into fist as his gaze locked tightly onto olive, who was now in Cedric’s arms.
Cut Olive kept smiling. Her eyes remained calm as she looked at Trevor, standing coldly before her the only one who could feel the fear behind her smile was Cedric, through the soft tremble beneath his warm hand.
He looked down at her briefly with a gentle expression. Then, he turned to Trevor and said with a smile, “Mr. Hocton, are you sure about giving her to ne? Because if you are, I’ll be taking her with me.”
