Seeing the situation downstairs, Giselle quickly retreated to the bedroom and changed out of her sleepwear she couldn’t hide.
So she composed herself, stepped out of the room, and walked downstairs as if nothing ever happened.

Since
everyone was already here,
In the living room, Dorothea looked around and muttered to herself. “Where has Benjamin gone off to? And the housekeepers, they vanished into thin air, the lot of them!”
Renee and Anne found it strange too–the villa was unusually quiet. Even if Donovan weren’t home, the housekeepers would have already come out to greet them
Anne was the first to notice Giselle coming downstairs. Her eyes immediately sharpened, and she stormed over, demanding. “What are you doing here? Everyone else turned to look at Giselle too. Dorothea’s face visibly darkened upon seeing her.
Giselle ignored Anne and calmly walked over to greet Dorothea, “Good morning, Mrs. Kane Senior. Are you here to see Mr. Kane? I can call him for you.” “shat your mouth!” Dorothea snapped. Her demeanor had changed entirely. She scrutinized Giselle from head to toe as if trying to see her in a new light “Tell me, what are you doing here? And where is everyone else?”
Giselle was momentarily caught off guard. She couldn’t tell the truth, so she casually brushed it off. “I’m Mr. Kane’s secretary now. He asked me to come here and pick something up for him”
“Stop lying!” Anne cut in, her tone full of accusation. “You, a single woman, walking out of the CEO’s bedroom in broad daylight? You know exactly what you’ve done. Do you take us for fools?
kind and understanding
Renee glared at diselle as well. She was ready to explode and lash out, but then she remembered that she had to maintain the image of a kind stepmother in front of Dorothea
So she held herself back and said in a measured voice, “Mrs Kane, I sincerely apologize for her unexpected presence here. As her stepmother, I’m deeply ashamed of this Please, don’t be upset. I’ll make sure she leaves promptly
But Anne refused to let it go. She shouted, “Why should she get to leaved Mas Kane’s here today, and I want Giselle to explain herself! She’s my half–sister, and yer she has the nerve to sneak into my fiance’s house and seduce him?”
Tears
welled up in Anne’s eyes as she turned to Dorothea, crying our, Mrs. Kane, you have to help me! If word of this gets out, the whole world will think that Don’s bedding both Holt sisters. But this bitch was the one who threw herself at him. She’s even made her way to his private villa. My parents won’t even step in, but I can’t take this anymore!
Throughout the entire conversation, Giselle didn’t say a word. She just stood there, silently watching as Anne put on a dramatic show.
She knew full well that Anne had probably poisoned Dorothea’s mind with stories about how she’d seduced Donovan. So it was no surprise that Dorothea now treated her with such hostility.
