Chapter 16
Ever since Cheryl found out that Dylan had been harboring a crush on her for years, she had been doing her best to reciprocate his love. The newlyweds spent their days attached at the hip. As a result, their relationship progressed swimmingly.
There was only one thing she couldn’t stand. Although she’d been married thrice in her past life, they’d all treated her as though she were invisible. Thus, Cheryl had never made love with any of them.
After marrying Dylan, he would do it with her every single night. Cheryl had no idea if he was ever tired, but she certainly couldn’t take it anymore.
She laid down the ground rules that they could only make love once a day. As a result, he started dragging it out so he would last for hours at a time. This went on until Cheryl finally banned him from the bedroom.
Dylan stood in front of the closed bedroom door, pillow in hand, apologizing pitifully, “Cherry, I’m sorry. I won’t do it again. Forgive me just this time.”
Listening to his forlorn pleading, Cheryl remembered the last time she gave in and let him into the room. She could hardly walk out of the bedroom the next day.
“Spend the night in the guest bedroom. I’m going to sleep. Don’t disturb me.”
When Dylan came to terms with the fact that appealing to her empathy wouldn’t yield any results, he went to his study to work, bringing his pillow with him.
After around two hours, he unlocked the bedroom door with a key and got into bed. Then, he gathered Cheryl into his arms and went to sleep. He didn’t want to sleep in the guest room, as it would jeopardize their relationship. Only when she was in his arms could he sleep soundly.
The next morning, Cheryl woke up to his hardness poking her from behind. She’d been too lenient with him. Thus, she kicked him off the bed and strutted into the washroom to get ready for the day.
“Cherry, why did you kick me out of bed again?”
From his position on the floor, Dylan reflected on how Cheryl had seemingly been extremely quick–tempered recently. Perhaps her period was approaching. Either way, it could not have been because of him.
“Cherry, I’ll take you to the hot springs later and give you a massage.”
Dylan embraced her and grinned in satisfaction. Although Cheryl had been angry, all of it subsided when she saw him cling to her as though he could not possibly live without her.
After breakfast, they headed over to Tranquility Resort, the hot springs resort. Cheryl took a picture of the serene environment upon arrival and posted it on Instagram.
Leon, Zane, and Steven had been on their phones at the time, so they instantly saw her post. In the picture, her hand was cradled by a much larger one as she strolled through the park. The enjoyment and the relaxation she was experiencing could be felt through the screen.
Immediately, Leon sent the photo to Hazel and asked her to find out where Cheryl was. The second they received the address, they yanked out their IV needles, got changed, and headed toward Tranquility Resort.
When Giselle returned to their room, she only saw their retreating figures as they hurried away. Putting her things down, she followed them.
When the three of them arrived at the resort, a few hours had passed. Cheryl and Dylan were done with soaking in the hot springs and were currently eating together.
“Dylan, you asshole. You said you were going to help me relax, yet in the end…” She couldn’t quite finish her sentence. Recalling what Dylan did in the hot springs caused her to flush. She glared at him shyly.
Her little glare was extremely endearing, but Dylan knew if he did not placate her, it was likely that he would be chased out of the bedroom once again.
“Cherry, I’ve reflected on my mistakes. Don’t be angry. Why don’t you eat something? You must be exhausted.”
Cheryl pouted as she bit off the steak Dylan offered her, like she was expressing her dissatisfaction. Fixing him with a mean stare, she chewed purposefully at her food.
Dylan found the little expression she made, which she thought was threatening, absolutely adorable. He felt as though his heart was about to melt from her antics. He kept feeding her until she could not take anymore. Only then did he start eating. When Leon, Zane, and Steve found Cheryl, they saw her gazing at the man beside her with a soft beam as he ate. Her eyes glimmered lovingly. Even the air between them seemed sugary sweet. There was no space for anyone else in her
