Chapter 21
Since the Spencer and Dalton families crossed paths in business all the time, Yara’s parents didn’t want to cause a scene. They agreed to let her and Bryce talk privately and quietly left for the banquet hall.
Now, only the two of them were left in the house. Bryce couldn’t hold it in any longer. He stepped closer and called out softly, “Yara…”
His
eyes were full of pain and regret, and his voice was raw with emotion.
However, Yara didn’t react at all. She just nodded calmly. “What is it? If you have something to say, make it quick. I need to get to the engagement party. Today is important.”
He could still remember the days when her voice was full of love, but now, Bryce couldn’t feel a trace of that anymore.
Panic crept into his expression as he pleaded, “Yara, I’m sorry. I was wrong before. I kept ignoring you because of Yelena. I never should have hurt you like that. Can you forgive me?”
Yara remained just as indifferent, showing neither anger nor joy. Ever since they’d cleared the air last time, she’d let it all go.
She nodded and said, “I understand, but it doesn’t matter anymore. I really don’t care. It’s getting late. I have to go.”
Bryce felt like his heart was being cut apart. His face went pale.

‘Are you still holding a grudge against me? I really mean it, Yara. I didn’t just come back to apologize, I want to get back together. I used to think I loved Yelena, but over the past three years, I’ve truly fallen for you. Please, Yara, just give me another chance.”
For the first time, Yara saw Bryce on the verge of tears. His voice trembled, every word so desperate and pleading, like he was about to break down right in front of her.
But it was too late. She didn’t love him anymore. Why couldn’t he see that?
She didn’t answer. She just looked at him with calm eyes. There was no love in them for him anymore, not even hate.
Bryce’s heart clenched, making it hard to breathe. He stepped closer, reaching for her with trembling hands. “I know I messed up, Yara. Please, believe me, never hurt you again. I’ll make it up to you. I’ll love you.”
He dropped to his knees, pulling Yara into his arms.
