Chapter 13
Faced with Aurelia’s relentless pressure, Damien’s expression grew increasingly pained.
Finally, unable to hold back any longer, he snapped, “Aurelia, you’ve already beaten Sloane to a pulp–isn’t that enough? Let it go. It won’t end well for anyone if this gets any uglier.”
That last sentence carried a quiet but unmistakable threat.
The other child husbands began speaking up as well.
“Aurelia, even if you’re the Vance family’s heiress, this is too much. Just look at what you’ve done to Sloane!”
“Yeah! You hit her without any solid proof. What kind of behavior is that?”
“Sloane may be an orphan, but she’s still human. She doesn’t deserve to be treated this way!”
One by one, they rallied around Sloane, as if she were the one who had lifted them all out of the gutter.
But in reality, it was Harrison who had adopted them. The Vance family had invested money and effort into shaping each of them into society’s elite. The Vance family also gave them the capital and connections to trade stocks, launch businesses, and build their initial fortunes.
If it weren’t for Aurelia, Harrison wouldn’t have taken them in at all. They’d still be scraping by in foster care.
Aurelia let out a cold laugh. She swept her gaze over her husbands and said icily, “Don’t get too comfortable. Because the moment I release the evidence I have, you’re all going down with her.”
The husbands fell silent, exchanging uneasy glances before turning wary eyes on Aurelia.
“Aurelia, what do you mean by that? You don’t seriously think we were behind it too, do you?“”
Aurelia didn’t answer directly. Instead, she smiled and pulled a USB drive from her purse.
“I wasn’t planning to take things this far, but Sloane–you brought this upon yourself.”
She shot a frosty glance at Sloane, then raised her voice for all to hear.
“Since you dared to broadcast my private photos in front of everyone, I think it’s only fair that I show them something even more thrilling. Bring in a new projector!
At her command, the maids hurried to set up a replacement.
Still smiling, Aurelia plugged the USB into the projector.
“Actually, over a month ago, I installed pinhole cameras and audio bugs throughout the villa,” she said, her gaze slowly sweeping across her husbands.
“At first, I just wanted to hear what you all said behind my back. But to my surprise, I caught more than just your nasty little insults. Some of what I captured turned out to be far more interesting.”
At those words, Damien’s and Sloane’s expressions immediately shifted. The other six child husbands wore equally telling expressions–some guilty, some furious, others on the verge of falling apart.
“Aurelia, how could you spy on us like that? That’s crossing the line!”
But Aurelia replied calmly, “I installed pinhole cameras in my home to guard against thieves. How is that crossing a line?”
With that, she couldn’t be bothered entertaining the ungrateful traitors anymore. She supply ordered the maids to turn on the projector and play the footage. “Ahh…”
Damien.
A sweet, sultry moan echoed through the room as Sloane’s flushed face appeared on screen. She was wrapped around a man like a snake–but that man wasn’t
