Nadine had a manager named Evelyn Crosby, who was hired by Jeremy to tend to her.
Evelyn’s ultimate goal was for Nadine to become Mrs. Hansen. She believed that if Nadine succeeded, she too would get to enjoy the riches and Influence by extension..
Because of this, she had followed Nadine’s every command over the past two years with unwavering dedication. Not only did Evelyn obey Nadine’s every command, but she also worked tirelessly to ensure her success.
In fact, she was the one who helped Nadine find Joy to be her donor.
When Evelyn learned that Joy was with Joanna, she panicked and immediately went to discuss ways to resolve this crisis with Nadine.
If Joanna took Joy to the police, it would spell Nadine’s doom. Under no circumstances could the truth about Nadine buying a uterus from a living donor come to light, especially
not to Jeremy.
But with Joy in Joanna’s hands, it was clear that she wouldn’t let Nadine off easily. She would undoubtedly tell Jeremy first.
Upon recalling that there was something off about Jeremy’s tone during their last phone call, Nadine’s face turned pale with fear.
“What should I do? If Jeremy finds out I paid for a uterus, he’ll leave me. What should I do? ” she asked while clutching Evelyn’s arm, on the verge of tears.
Evelyn, in contrast, was way more composed than Nadine. She thought for a moment and said, “The only option now is to have Joy tell Mr. Hansen herself that she willingly donated her uterus to you and that the money given to the Holm family was just a token of gratitude.
“But Joy is with Joanna now. How could she possibly agree to that?” Nadine asked in a trembling voice.
“That’s where the Holm family comes in. As long as we offer enough money, they’ll make sure the job gets done,” Evelyn said.
Being in her 305, she was experienced and shrewd in dealing with unfavorable situations.
“Evelyn, you have to help me this time,” Nadine pleaded, gripping Evelyn’s arm tightly. Otherwise, all my years of effort will have been for nothing.”
“Don’t worry. We’re in this together. If I don’t help you, who will?” Evelyn responded.
The Holms had been searching for Joy relentlessly. Their search went on until 8:00 am,

when Nadine’s people called them and demanded that they bring Joy to the hospital. They had no choice but to tell Nadine the truth when they failed to deliver the promised donor.
Upon hearing the news that Joy had run away, she flew into a rage.
Nadine had already paid a deposit of 20 thousand dollars. However, Joy had fled along with the promised uterus. So, she demanded the Holin family cough up the compensation.
The amount had been stipulated in the contract. In the event that the Holms failed to deliver the uterus, they would need to pay a sum of money that is three times the deposit.
In other words, they had to pay Nadine 60 thousand dollars,
The Holms were devastated because there was no way they could come up with such an amount. As they were unable to pay, their only option was to find Joy and force her to give up her uterus to Nadine.
Still, they couldn’t find her.
Desperate, the Holms thought of Joy’s boyfriend. Joy had been inseparable from her boyfriend recently. Although she wasn’t in contact with them, she might have reached out
to him.
Sure enough, Joy had contacted her boyfriend, and he had learned about her being coerced into selling her uterus. When the Holm family approached him, he was initially furious and wanted to stand up for Joy.
However, when they offered him ten thousand dollars, his attitude changed right away. After all, his relationship with Joy was nothing more than a fling to him–he had never intended to marry her.
Since he wasn’t planning to marry her, what difference did it make whether she had a uterus or not?

Now that he had an easy opportunity to make ten thousand dollars without risking anything, of course, he’d take the chance.
Under the Holm family’s persuasion and enticement, he agreed to contact Joy.
Joanna received Nadine’s call when it was about noon.
“Joanna, what’s the meaning of this? Why did you hide Joy and have someone tell me that she’s with you? Did you seriously think I forced her to sell her uterus to me?”
