Did Wendy just say she asked someone to poke a hole in Jeremy’s condom?
Joanna’s eyes widened in shock. So, that was what happened. She was also confused about her pregnancy. After all, Jeremy used a condom whenever they slept together.
It turned out Joanna had Wendy to thank for all of this. If that was the case, then why didn’t the latter tell Jeremy about it?
Was it because Wendy was worried that her relationship with Jeremy would turn sour the same way it did three years ago? Back then, she secretly made Nadine swallow the abortion pills, and that led him to distance himself from her.
Was that why Wendy kept her latest dirty trick a secret and made Joanna out to be the scapegoat?
“You should’ve told Jeremy about it, then. Why would you let Joanna suffer like this?” Sean asked again.
“How has she suffered in any way?” Wendy was immediately displeased. “She should be thankful that she could have Jeremy’s baby. Once she gives birth to the twins, her life will only become better because of them. She would have everything she ever wanted.
“How is that suffering? Joanna should be thankful that I did what I did.”
“Are you just going to keep letting Jeremy be suspicious of Joanna? Aren’t you going to come clean to him?” Sean asked.
“That isn’t something you need to be worried about. I’ve told Jeremy to draw more blood and do a paternity test when Joanna is three months pregnant. Once he has the report, he won’t suspect her anymore.”
Wendy’s tone was light and confident, as if everything was under her control.
Joanna was at the staircase, and the light in her eyes disappeared before she gripped the railing and continued her way downstairs.
She finally had an answer to Jeremy’s sudden shift in attitude and his consent to let her focus on her pregnancy at the Hansen residence. It turned out that he intended to do a paternity test when she was pregnant for three months.
If the result showed that the twins in Joanna’s belly were indeed Jeremy’s kids, then he and Wendy would definitely keep them before giving them away to Nadine.
On the other hand, if the result showed that Jeremy wasn’t the father of the twins, then there was a chance he might’ve hated her so much that he would sign the divorce agreement right there and then.

“Yeah. I’m having dinner with my friend,” Joanna responded. She told the butler that she wasn’t having dinner at home.
“Cancel it.” Wendy left no room for discussion and barked an order. “We’re having an esteemed client later, and Sean isn’t home. You’re going to entertain him with me.”
Joanna wanted to reject Wendy, but she heard the sound of a car approaching from outside. The latter’s face immediately lit up when she heard it. Then, Wendy swiftly made her way outside.
Joanna was stunned for a second before she took off after Wendy.
The car quickly parked in front of the villa. Then, the door swung open, and a graceful and elegant figure stepped out of the car.
It was Shanel Summers, the heiress to the Summer family in Glimstone City.
The Summer family had been observing quite substantial growth over the past few years. Eventually, they became as powerful as the Hansen family.
As far as her parents were concerned, Shanel was the treasured and beloved child of the family. They even publicly declared that they would be giving away half of the family assets to her as a wedding gift when she got married.
It also meant that anyone who made Shanel his wife would own half of the Summer family’s assets. That was why Wendy secured her as Joseph’s future wife. The Summers and the Hansens were on the cusp of arranging and announcing the marriage on official platforms.
