Chapter 11 It’s a Yes
Finally, I caught my breath and wiped the tears from my eyes. I stepped forward and wrapped my arms around him. “Of
course, it’s a yes, silly,” I whispered, still chuckling. “I can’t wait to spend my life with you.”
His wide eyes
stared back at me, as if needing confirmation that I was serious. In response, I stretched out my hand in front of him. “So, are you going to put the ring on or not?”
Relief washed over his face, and a huge grin broke out as he slid the white diamond ring onto my finger. The crowd erupted into cheers, clapping and celebrating with
- us.
Andrew stood up and pulled me into a tight hug before lifting me off the ground and spinning me around.
As he set me back down, I leaned in close.

and whispered with a grin, “Learn to spell next time.”
He chuckled, rubbing the back of his neck.
“Yeah, well, there wasn’t much time. The people I hired must have misheard, or maybe they were dyslexic. Either way, you got the message, right?”
I nodded, laughing as we sat back down on the blanket and resumed eating our sandwiches, the excitement of the proposal still buzzing in the air.
Later that evening, I took a picture of my ring and posted it on my private Instagram with the caption: [Here‘ s to a lifetime of laughter with you.]
Comments poured in from my friends and family, congratulating me and sharing in the joy of the moment.
Not long after, one of my best friends called me. “Ruby! You‘ re going viral! I just saw a video of the boat parade and your proposal–it’s all over the internet.

People are talking about you!”
I quickly clicked the link she sent me, and to my surprise, the video had already been viewed over two million times. My heart raced as I scrolled through the comments. Most were positive, with people gushing about how sweet and funny the proposal was. Some even recognized me.
[Isn’t she the entrepreneur from Casouth? The one with that wedding video scandal?]
[So happy for her. She deserves love after what she went through!]
[This is so romantic. I need to tag my man. Glad she found love again.]
[He really sets new standard. Guys, make some notes pls.]
[I hope this one really loves Ruby.]
[Now I believe in love again. Who’s the guy?]
Of course, there were a few doubting comments, accusing the whole thing of

Chapter 11 It’s a Yes
I remember us spending entire afternoons. visiting cake shops, trying endless flavors of icing and sponge, both of us pretending to be “experts” in cake tasting when we really just loved the sugar rush.
We laughed over silly things like which flavor should dominate or whether we should go with a classic white cake or something bolder.
In the end, we settled on a three–tier cake decorated with elegant white roses and a hint of gold, something that perfectly matched the theme of our Evercrest
wedding. And of course, we had a small tier dedicated to red velvet, which was secretly both our favorite.
Six months after Andrew’s slightly flawed but endearing proposal, the first wedding reception took place in Evercrest. The venue was a beautiful garden surrounded by towering oak trees, twinkling lights strung overhead.
