Chapter 6
Lucian smiled as he placed the necklace around my neck.
“You look so beautiful. I’m glad that I have you, Freya,” he said, his words soft, almost as if he were trying to convince himself. “You stay with me despite my busy schedules…”
He always acted like nothing had changed, like everything was fine.
“You‘ re perfect,” he whispered, kissing my skin, his lips lingering for a moment longer.
But I couldn’t shake the feeling of disgust creeping in. His lips, the ones that had kissed Vlanche all over, were now on me. I could almost feel the residue of her on him, but I said nothing. I just kept my composure, forcing a smile.
“You understand me, right?” he asked, looking at me with those familiar eyes.

I didn’t answer. Just as I opened my mouth to speak, his phone rang.
“Oh, it’s my Beta. It might be about our new pack alliances,” he said, his voice light and dismissive. He kissed me one last time before walking out of the room.
And I couldn’t help but remember the way he used to be. Back then, I was just a simple wolf attending the academy, keeping my true identity hidden. I didn’t want anyone to respect me just because of my bloodline. I wanted to see who would respect me for who I was.
And Lucian was the one who did. He was the one who treated me like I mattered, who showed me love and respect, even when my mother had urged me to pair with someone more powerful. I chose him, despite my pack’s insistence, and distanced myself from everything else.
But now? Everything felt different. He had changed. He was so consumed by his
power and his own ego, and I was no

onger enough for him. He had Vlanche, and I was just the Luna he could never truly appreciate.
I brushed it off and went on with my day, trying not to let the weight of it all get to
- me.
I received a message from my mother: * “What’s taking you so long to come back?” *
*
I quickly replied: “I just need some time. to adjust and to leave with a clear conscience.” *
I walked through the pack house, nodding to the wolves who greeted me with such reverence. I couldn’t help but wonder what would become of this pack once I left. After all, Lucian needed me, but he had become too arrogant, too full of himself.
I smiled and continued toward his room, thinking he wasn’t there. But as I approached, I heard the unmistakable sound of moaning.

“So good, Lucian~” Vlanche‘ s voice. echoed through the door, breathless and desperate.
“Think of that bitch as dead,” she added, her words cutting through me.
“You‘ re the most beautiful woman I‘ ve ever met.” Lucian’s voice followed, full of praise.
I didn’t expect it to hit me as hard as it did. But hearing those words shattered me.
In that moment, I called the pack‘ s elder, Thorne.
“Why did you call me, Luna?” he asked, his tone calm, though I could sense the weight of the situation in his voice.
“I want to sever my bond with Lucian,” I said, my decision final.
“What!?” Thorne gasped. “When are you going to stay? You‘ re homeless now, and this pack needs you.”
“No,” I said, my voice steady. “I need to

do it now.”
“But what about the pack‘ s feast celebration? What will his parents say?” Thorne asked, his concern evident.
“It s none of my concern anymore,” replied, a sense of finality in my words. “I’d rather be a rogue than stay with him. And he’s the only one who knows why.”

And just like that, I made my choice. I would leave him, leave the pack, and never look back.
