Chapter 14
“No… this can’t be,” he whispered, his voice breaking.
“When did she…?” His breath hitched. “How could Freya have carried my pup and not told me?”
His wolf howled within him, a sound of anguish and denial.
“This has to be a lie,” he muttered, shaking his head violently. “She‘ s trying to hurt me. This report–it‘ s fake. It has to be fake!”
But deep down, he knew. He felt the emptiness, the severed connection where our bond used to burn strong.
When I returned to the Stormhood
stronghold, my father was the first to greet
- me.
His piercing amber eyes studied me, taking in every detail–the way my shoulders.

slumped, the faint scars that weren’t there the last time he’d seen me, the exhaustion etched into my face.
“I told you that you shouldn’t be hiding on what you are anymore but you defied my rules.” He said.
I paused, offering a bitter smile as I shook my head. “I was so wrong.”
Come in,” he said finally, stepping aside. “You won’t be the Luna of a second–rate pack anymore.”
The disapproval in his tone was clear. He’d warned me, years ago, not to choose Lucian. To not ever choose someone like him and that I should flaunt to all people that I have an Alpha blood but I was stubborn.
“I’m embarrassed even to tell anyone about it,” he continued. “Remember, Freya, you are the future Alpha Heir of this pack. You were born for greater things than that wolf could ever offer.”

My family’s unwavering support gave me the strength I needed to rebuild.
I was no longer “the barren Luna” whispered about in the Crimson Moon Pack. No longer the mate overshadowed by betrayal and pain.
I was Freya Stormhood–daughter of the most powerful Alpha in the region and future leader of this pack.
I threw myself into the work of managing the pack’s affairs. People began calling me “Little Storm,” a nod to my determination and fierce presence. It wasn’t long before I started making changes, building alliances, and showing the world that I was more than just someone’s mate.
But even as I rebuilt, ghosts from my past continued to haunt me.
One evening, my phone buzzed. I didn’t recognize the number, but I knew the voice
the moment I answered.

“Freya,” Lucian growled, his tone sharp
and angry.
I didn’t respond, letting him talk.
“It took me forever to track down your new number,” he snarled. “Did you really go to the city alone? Do you realize how dangerous it is for you to wander without a pack?”
I stayed silent, unbothered by his anger.
“How long are you going to keep this up?” he demanded. “You‘ re still joking about the pup? What’s the point of being angry and leaving? We can fix this!”
His desperation seeped through his words, but I remained calm, my voice steady.
“Lucian, I’ve already signed the
severance agreement. If you refuse to sign, I’ll take you to the Council and have it. finalized anyway.
He hesitated, his breathing heavy.
“… Fine, if you‘ re that brave, take me to the Council. But without me, who’s going

to call you Luna with respect? You think you‘ re so capable–pretending with some fake report.” His voice grew louder, angrier.
“If you were really pregnant, how could you bear to abort it?” he spat.
For a moment, I faltered, my wolf stirring uneasily.
“And forgetting our anniversary?” he continued. “Is it really that serious, Freya? Do you hate me that much? Do you really hate me that you‘ ve ruined everything? That I’ve lost Crescent Fang Pack and Alpha Darian‘ s?” His voice sounds so
hollow.
