“The hell are you talking about?” I snapped, my voice low and dangerous.
Alpha Theron smirked, wiping a speck of blood from the corner of his mouth.
“Come on, Freya. Don’t play naive. Darian is an Alpha–don’t you think he wants you as well? Not for you, but for your rare blood-”
Before he could finish, a snarl ripped from my throat, primal and fierce. My wolf surged to the surface as I lunged at him, my claws digging into his chest. The force of my attack drove him to the ground, his attempt to shift thwarted as blood pooled beneath him.
I hovered over him, baring my teeth. “No one manipulates me,” I growled, my voice steady and unyielding.

falter under my strength.
I turned to Darian, who stood frozen, his expression unreadable. “No one,” I repeated, my gaze sharp and unwavering.
The tension in the air thickened as a new
scent filled the room–familiar and
unwelcome. My eyes flicked to the doorway, where another wolf appeared, her figure trembling with barely concealed
rage.
It was Vlanche.
“Alpha Theron…” she whispered, her voice soft and reverent as she knelt beside
his bloodied form.
I straightened, my claws still poised, as I stared her down. “What are you even doing here, Vlanche?” I demanded, my
tone laced with disdain.
She glared up at me, her eyes red with anger and tears. “Lucian left me,” she spat, her voice trembling with fury.
“Because of you! And you wasted that!”

I scoffed, rolling my eyes. “You can have him, Vlanche,” I said, my tone dripping with indifference. “I’m not interested in secondhand men.”
Her face twisted with rage, and she stood abruptly, her gaze darting to Theron, who was visibly weakening. My power pulsed through the room, its effect on him undeniable.
“You did this to him,” she hissed, her voice filled with accusation.
“No, Vlanche,” I replied coolly. “He did it to himself when he thought he could use me like a pawn.”
Vlanche‘ s eyes burned with hatred, but she didn’t move. She could sense what everyone else in the room had already realized this wasn’t a fight she could
win.
“Get out,” I commanded, my voice cutting through the tension like a blade.
“Both of you. Before I decide you‘ re not

worth sparing.”
“You’ve caused the downfall of my… brother,” Vlanche hissed, her voice trembling with fury.
My eyes widened in shock at her words. “He’s your brother?” I murmured, glancing at Darian, who stepped forward protectively.
“He‘ s your brother?” Darian echoed, his voice sharp with disbelief. “Well, Freya didn’t cause this. It’s not her fault you and everyone else underestimated her power.”
Vlanché let out a bitter laugh, her wolf bristling beneath the surface. “You stole everything from me!” she shouted, her voice cracking. “Remember when we attended the academy and you disguised yourself as some weak wolf?”
Her words sparked a faint memory, but I didn’t recall her being part of that scene. Still, she seemed convinced.

“Lucian and I were dating back then,‘ she continued, her voice dripping with resentment. “Then you showed up–and suddenly, you became the object of his affection. He forgot about me the moment you walked into his life!”
I placed a hand over my chest mockingly, feigning sympathy. “Touching,” I said dryly. “But didn’t he break up with you because you slept with powerful wolves to gain a title in that place? And, if I recall correctly, I came into the picture a good eight months after your so–called breakup.”
Her fists clenched tightly, her rage boiling over. “And the Stormhoods are the reason
my pack crumbled! We asked for help, and they refused us!”
Darian stepped closer, his tone cold. “Because your pack wasn‘ t strong enough to earn their support. That’s the reality, Vlanche. And honestly, I didn’t even know you were connected to Alpha

Theron. How convenient.”
Her voice cracked as she snarled, “He’s my long–lost brother! We reunited after years just the moment we met at your place –because of Lucian! But you‘ ve ruined everything again!”
I held my ground, my gaze steady. “Leave, Vlanche,” I said firmly, my voice low but resolute. “I’m not as bad as you think. I won’t harm your child. Just walk away. You don’t need to see what happens when I rip Theron’s throat out.”
Darian nodded at my words, his expression. unreadable but supportive.
Vlanche’s wolf growled, her frustration pouring out in waves. “This child…?” she sneered. “How am I supposed to raise it without its Alpha, huh?”
I let out a humorless laugh. “Elder Winterpelt is obsessed with you,” I said coldly. “Why not let her take care of the tepup? After all, it’s her grandchild. The so-

Her eyes burned with hatred, and before I could react, she raised her hand, aiming to slap me. But Darian moved faster, catching her wrist mid–swing. He shoved her back gently but firmly, his wolf bristling with warning.
“Don’t touch her,” Darian growled, his voice calm but dangerous.
The room fell silent, the weight of his command pressing down on Vlanche. Before she could lash out further, the Stormhood warriors entered, their presence decisive and unyielding.
Vlanche snarled one last time, her eyes filled with anger and pain, but she didn’t resist as they escorted her out.
Boone arrived shortly after, his expression one of concern as he approached me. Darian stood by my side, his presence grounding me.
Meanwhile, Alpha Theron was detained by

the Stormhoods‘ warriors. His fate was
sealed–he would face punishment for his actions.
As the night ended, I felt a momentary calm, but a nagging feeling lingered in my chest.
Lucian wasn‘ t done. I could feel it. This wasn‘ t over yet.
