After such a long time, I returned to familiar land, but my feelings were completely different from when I left.
Somehow, Ethan had found out that I was back and there he was, squatting at my doorstep with disheveled hair
and an unshaven face.
I walked over and kicked him in the leg. “Don’t get in the way, thanks.”
Ethan knelt on the ground, clutching my calf tightly, begging me for another chance, saying that he had already
broken up with Linda and that he still loved me the most.
My calf injury had healed, but the scar still wouldn’t fade. As Ethan grabbed it, it started to itch again.
This sight disgusted me to the core. I yanked his hand away and coldly replied, “It’s impossible.
Knowing I was back, the director took the initiative to invite me to dinner. When I opened the door, I saw Ethan still there, so I called security to have him removed.
Ethan was so embarrassed that even his shoes were pulled off. I looked into his eyes as the elevator door slowly
closed.
In the private room, I was measuring the director’s size with a tape measure when Ethan barged in, ignoring the
staff’s attempts to stop him.
He saw me with my arms around the director’s shoulders from behind and with reddened eyes, he angrily questioned me. “You two have been together all along, haven’t you? Did you team up to mess with me?”
He fixed his gaze to me, “What’s so good about him, Mia? I’ve admitted my mistakes. What more do you want
from me?”
I signaled to the staff to escort him out and apologized to the director before quickly leaving through the back
door.
Nathan had arranged for me to meet with several agencies and my brand’s reputation had already begun to
grow.
Linda’s company still didn’t want to give up on her. When they heard about my brand’s plans to expand locally, they reached out to discuss a potential collaboration for an endorsement.
Linda didn’t know it was my brand. If she did, she’d probably faint on the spot from rage.
I didn’t have thoughts of seeking my own downfall, but I wanted to see Linda one more time. The feeling of being ruthlessly trampled must not be pleasant.
The meeting was set for 3 p.m. and I arrived fifteen minutes late.
Linda looked pale and exhausted. I walked in, stepping confidently in my high heels and removed my sunglasses
with a deliberate motion.
“Long time no see, Linda.”
She looked as if she had seen a ghost, rushing towards me to slap me, but unexpectedly, Ethan suddenly appeared and slapped her across the face.

“What’s your problem now? What if you hurt Mia?”
I smiled as I watched the chaos unfold before me. Linda grabbed Ethan by the collar, punching and kicking him.
“You two damn! May you both die miserable death!”
Before anyone could react, Linda took off the hairpin from her head and slashed it towards Ethan’s neck.
Ethan tilted his head to dodge, but his cheek was cut with a deep gash.
Linda was restrained by security and Ethan pressed his hand to the wound, his expression pained. I stood to the side and dialed Nathan’s number.
“Can
you come pick me up? I’m so tired.”
By the time I got home, it was already evening. The news of Linda and Ethan’s fight spread everywhere. Countless fans who had once blessed them quickly changed their stance, accusing both of them of having poor character.
The police quickly arrested Linda and I heard that Ethan’s face was stitched up with several stitches and would
never return to its original state.
I never got news of Linda’s imprisonment. According to the director, she had undergone a mental evaluation and was diagnosed with a mental disorder. She would spend the rest of her life in a psychiatric hospital, left to fend for herself.
The day the suit was finished, I visited the director to express my gratitude. He patted my shoulder, wishing for my brand to shine and create its own path.
On the day I was about to leave, Ethan was waiting downstairs. His face was covered with crooked, ugly scars. He begged me not to leave, saying he had already realized his mistakes.
I lowered my head, remaining silent, when Ethan took something wine–red out of his chest pocket.
I widened my eyes in disbelief. Ethan had actually sewn together the very first suit I made for him, piece by piece, connected with thread.
