When the car arrived at the Ashford Family residence, Narissa felt a little nervous. This was
her second meeting with the Ashford Family after the wedding.
Because Dion’s parents had health issues, they had only communicated via video calls while abroad. Suddenly, Dion held her hand, turned to her with a gentle smile and said, “Don’t worry, my parents really like you. They’ve been thinking about you the whole way here!”
Hearing this, Narissa let out a sigh of relief. At the dining table, Carol couldn’t stop smiling
as she warmly piled food onto her plate.
Feeling embarrassed, she said, “That’s enough, Mom. I’ve got plenty to eat.”
Only then did Carol stop her movement. Beaming with joy, she said, “Alright, alright. You’re
too skinny. You need to eat more. Help yourself to whatever you like.”
At the table, when the topic of children came up, Narissa smiled softly, her expression growing tender. She said, “It’s a girl, but we don’t have any experience raising children yet.”
Originally, she and Dion hadn’t planned on having children. They didn’t feel mentally
prepared for parenthood, but an unexpected pregnancy had changed everything.
Narissa couldn’t bring herself to terminate the pregnancy. After discussing it with Dion, they decided to keep the baby.
Thinking about this, she glanced at her belly, her heart melting with affection. Carol gently patted her arm to reassure her. “Don’t worry, you have us here to support you. We’re just bored at home anyway. When the baby comes, we’ll take care of her. You two don’t need to worry
about anything.”
Narissa smiled, a wave of warmth filling her heart. “Thank you, Mom.”
“There’s no need for thanks. We’re family. I never had a daughter, but in my heart, you’re just
like one to me.”
Dion’s father, John, also spoke gently with a kind expression, “The most important thing for you young people is to take care of your health. Don’t worry about the baby.”
As he continued, he asked about their experiences abroad, which deeply moved Narissa. Under the table, Dion held her hand the entire time, his gaze calm and reassuring.
Narissa smiled warmly at him, her anxiety fading as she started chatting with Carol. Meanwhile, Dion stepped away to answer a phone call.
His gentle expression remained unchanged as he turned to leave, but the moment he was out of sight, his face darkened sharply. A hint of cold arrogance with a wicked edge flashed across his usually soft features as he said coldly, “I didn’t expect them to have the nerve to come here. Since they’re so eager to court trouble, don’t hold back.

At the same time, Drake and Evan had barged into the Ashford Family residence with a group of people. They were recklessly smashing things, venting two years of pent–up anger on the house. However, it didn’t take long before a team of black–clad bodyguards surrounded them, blocking their escape.
Drake calmly adjusted his clothes, his expression unruffled as he looked at the group of bodyguards. With a cold sneer, he said, “Finally, someone shows up. Anyone else would’ve thought the entire Ashford Family had died.”
His opening remark, dripping with insults, caused the surrounding bodyguards‘ faces to darken. One of them muttered coldly, “You really don’t know your place.”
Drake let out a mocking laugh, his expression icy as he commanded, “Tell your Boss to come out and bring Narissa too. I want to see her. If not, don’t blame us for taking legal action against him.”
The bodyguard sneered coldly. “My boss and his wife were not people you can meet just
because you want to.”
With that, he raised his hand and the group behind him swiftly subdued Drake, Evan and
their people without much effort.
Seeing how easily his people were taken down, Drake’s expression turned utterly frigid. “What do you mean ‘his wife‘? Narissa is my fiancée! If you don’t let us see her, we’ll sue you!”
Evan’s face turned pale as he initially tried to reason with them. However, his expression quickly darkened, his voice frosty as he spoke each word deliberately. “His wife? My sister is unmarried. Since when did she become someone else’s wife?”
The bodyguard’s expression remained unchanged as he immediately called the police, arranging for them to be taken to the station. “You’re breaking into a private residence without permission, even damaging property and now you want to sue us? You’re truly living in a fantasy. You two will stay at the station for a while!”
Drake and Evan knew they couldn’t leave now that they were inside. The desperation to find her had driven them nearly mad after searching for over two years.
Now that they had finally tracked her down, being told to leave felt like a death sentence. Unable to hold back any longer, Drake burst out, “I’m her fiancé! The Ashford Family is keeping my fiancée from me! We’re just trying to find her. The ones who should be arrested are
them!”
