During this time, he took care of all the arrangements, instructing his mother to look after Narissa and keep her from going out.
He then headed to Montmery, fully prepared. He had someone impersonate him, driving his car. As expected, an attack occurred along the way.
However, it wasn’t long before Dion, with the police, captured all the assailants. The investigation revealed that the Kingsley Family had hired someone to kill him.
When Drake and his father were exposed and arrested, Dion looked at him with a calm expression. “I never expected you to lose your composure so quickly. Such a pity.”
Drake’s eyes widened suddenly and he shot to his feet, his face turning pale with anger. “Dion, did you do this on purpose?”
Dion’s expression remained indifferent, the corners of his lips curling into a cold smile. “How is this my fault? After all, you brought this upon yourself. Since you wanted to kill me, I was only acting in self–defense.”
Drakejun’s eyes were filled with malice. If looks could kill, Dion would have been dead a thousand times over. Yet Dion remained composed and calm, unaffected by his fury.
“By the way, I heard your company is involved in multiple violations. It looks like an investigation is coming your way.”
The expression of Drake’s father changed drastically. He lowered his head, his voice meek as he spoke, “Mr. Ashford, whatever you want, just name it. As long as I can do it, I will agree to anything.”
Drake could no longer hold back his fury. “Dad, why are you begging him?”
Jordan shouted in response, “Shut up! If it weren’t for you, how would our family have ended up like this?”
Dion’s smile remained cold and detached. “I’m afraid I can’t agree with that. You didn’t show me any mercy when you plotted against me.”
Jordan’s face turned pale and his anger flared. He said something in a fury, but Dion didn’t
listen further.
In the end, Drake was forced to accept the reality. Seething with rage, he arranged for someone to deliver a message asking Narissa to visit him. This led to Narissa eventually discovering Dion’s plan.

but Dion quickly grabbed her arm. “Narissa, I’m really happy.”
“What else are you going to say?” She looked at him, clearly irritated.
Dion gazed at her with a gentle smile, his eyes soft. “Narissa, I’m truly happy that you’re
worried about me, but I only went there after receiving the news.”
Narissa took a deep breath, her voice restrained. “Anything can happen. If you’re in danger,
no one would be able to help you.”
Dion paused for a moment, then a soft smile spread across his face. “I know. I told my parents about this, but I didn’t tell you because I didn’t want to make you worry.”
He crouched down in front of her, lifting his head to look at her with tenderness. Gently, he
placed her hand on his face. “Narissa, I’m sorry. I was reckless. Please don’t be mad, okay?”
To make it right, Dion promised, “This won’t happen again. Believe me, from now on, no matter what happens, I won’t keep anything from you.”
Narissa eventually forgave him and soon after, she was scheduled to be admitted to the hospital a day before her delivery.
On the day of the delivery, she was in excruciating pain, sweating profusely. Despite having undergone prenatal care, the pain still felt unbearable. Dion stood outside the operating room, his eyes red as he heard her weak, agonized screams.
