Chapter 11%
The parents still refused to accept reality, struggling in their final desperation./
They didn’t believe my money came from a clean source, every word from them was slander.2
Upon hearing that, the police gave a cold snort, “We’ve already investigated. This young man is the most successful entrepreneur in our city and has consistently done charity work. Every single cent he has was earned through honest, down–to–earth efforts!“%
That one statement left everyone speechless.
The officer continued, “Just the damages you’ve caused are enough to land you all in prison for life. Instead of doubting where his money came from, you’d better start thinking about how to compensate him. He has clearly stated, he will not accept any settlement.“2
1.09 billion–it was a mind–boggling figure for everyone present. They couldn’t afford it, so they kept trying to play tricks.
Some parents still protested self–righteously, complaining to me, “If you have so much money, why are you coming after us like this?“% “Yeah, it was just a misunderstanding. We can talk it out, do you really need to push us to the edge like this?*%
“So what if we broke a car and a few collectibles? You’re the richest man, don’t be so petty and haggle over this kind of money!“? “Exactly. Even if we hit you, you’re still standing, aren’t you? Is it really necessary to keep pressing us like this?*%
One by one, they acted all righteous, as if causing damages worth over a billion and assaulting someone in public was something that could be waved away with a few words.
Or maybe they thought since I was rich and didn’t die from the beating, I should just be a pushover and swallow the loss.
I let out a cold laugh and said directly, “Weren’t you all acting high and mighty when you were smashing things and beating people?*Z “What now? You’ve got the guts to break stuff but not to pay for it? You screamed so loud when you were hitting me, why are you all so quiet now?” I sneered.”
If they had only smashed my property, maybe there would’ve been room for discussion.
But what they should never, ever have done, was humiliate my daughter in public. My daughter was my bottom line. I would never forgive them.
Seeing that I wouldn’t give in no matter what, the parents finally started to panic.}
They no longer dared to argue with me. Instead, they turned their blame on Scott, “This is all your fault, you useless piece of trash! You didn’t even get the facts straight before you started spewing lies in the group chat!”
“Yeah! Your wife is clearly just some bottom–rung scholarship girl and yet you dared to pretend she was the richest man’s sister? You’ve disgusted us all!*%
“You went around saying you were the richest mari’s brother–in–law, do you even know what shame is?”
“We only tried to flatter you because of that! Now look what you’ve dragged us into! You can pay all that money yourself, it’s none of our business!*%
“That’s right! This is all your fault. You cover the 1.09 billion on your own, we’re not splitting a cent with you!*!
Faced with all their accusations, Scott finally snapped out of his daze and fired back without holding back, “You bunch of losers and you’ve got the nerve to blame me?*%
“If you weren’t all so desperate to cling to power, constantly egging me on in the chat group, would I have gone this far?“!
“When you thought I was the richest man’s brother–in–law, you were bending over backward to flatier me, even wanted to lick my shoes. Now that things went south, suddenly none of you know me?“}
“With your filthy behavior, you’re all born to be dogs! And today, none of you are getting away with this!” he roared angrily.
The parents and Scott argued nonstop, if the police hadn’t stepped in, they would’ve started a full–on brawl.
After that heated argument, the parents once again tried to wriggle their way out. Each one claimed they hadn’t broken anything, that it was all someone else who did it.%

Each of them denied participating in the beating.
