Chapter 98
This scene practically blinded the onlooking parents. Everyone at the scene froze in shock.
Scott was completely dumbfounded, unable to believe his eyes.
“What is going on?”
Mr. Fins, why is your wife calling that lowlife Mr. Walsh?“>
“Isn’t your wife supposed to be Mr. Walsh’s sister? Why is she bowing and apologizing to this loser?”
The parents, recovering from the shock, bombarded him with soul–piercing questions.
His face turned deathly pale, clearly shaken to the core.
It took him a while to regain his senses before he suddenly turned to Anya and screamed hysterically, “Anya, what the hell is going on? You’re a Walsh, you’re Shawn’s sister! How can you bow and apologize to that penniless loser?”
“Didn’t you say that with the Walsh Family backing us, we never had to be afraid of anyone? What’s the meaning of this now!” he shouted. Scott, who always saw himself as superior and loved using status to suppress others, had now completely lost control.
He couldn’t accept that the wife he took pride in was now humiliating herself in front of the very person he most despised. “What are you doing? Say something!” His voice grew more frantic as he clutched Anya’s hand, his whole body trembling. Anya shook him off furiously and yelled, “Shut up, now! Don’t you realize, you’re destroying my entire life?”
Scott stumbled from her shove, staring in disbelief at the woman who now seemed like a stranger.”
Never in his wildest dreams had he imagined that the once dazzling woman he idolized would ever look so pitiful and broken. But Anya had no time to worry about his feelings, her heart was in her throat.
Still bowing low, she faced me and pleaded sincerely, “Mr. Walsh, I know I was wrong. Please, just this once, please forgive me.” Ignoring all the stunned and puzzled stares around her, Anya spoke with nothing but humility and sincerity in her voice.
I looked at her expressionlessly, disappointment in my eyes and said, “Anya, you should know the person I cared about most was my sister.”
I said again, “She treated you with extra kindness while she was alive. She always said you reminded her of herself. ‘Like dust, insignificant. But also like a seed, full of life.‘ She knew you had ambition, a desire to change your fate. She could deeply sense the yearning in your heart, so she helped you with everything she had.“}
*Because of her, I granted your every request. I even treated you like a real sister, looked after you, supported you. I hoped that, with my help, you could grow to become as exceptional as my sister.”
“But what did you do in return? You took everything I gave you and used it to cheat others, to impersonate my sister, to trick a man into marriage and have a child!”
“And you let your husband bully others without restraint. Anya … you’ve disappointed me deeply!“}
No wonder .. no wonder that watch on Scott’s wrist had looked so familiar to me. It turned out to be something from my unused villa.
All these years, Anya had played the pitiful poor girl in front of me. But behind my back, she impersonated my sister, used everything I gave her to create a false image and fool others. What a joke.”
And to think I had tried to fulfill my sister’s last wish by treating Anya as my own sister.
I never imagined that both my sister’s and my genuine care would be repaid by a cunning and ungrateful snake.
My Doctor
